Thanks guys, and Tubbs please build your 64, I'd be interested to see your build.
I'm a pretty slow builder myself, however i've built 2 of these before so hopefully I can point out some good and bad points, ideas etc along the way !

Thanks guys, and Tubbs please build your 64, I'd be interested to see your build. I'm a pretty slow builder myself, however i've built 2 of these before so hopefully I can point out some good and bad points, ideas etc along the way ! would really like that, it would be a big help. I want my (hopefully) first MOTM to get at least a couple votes. it's going to be pretty much out of the box, the only changes I want to make is I want to put a 409 in there and, sorry, but I have to change those rims and tires. would love to find a pair of white walls in my stash, but I think that is going to be tough. never used decals, but I have a set.
I can't believe I am jumping into my first MOTH with a low rider.... just a wheeee bit out of my comfort zone. I will be watching yours. I'll tell you what, since we both build comfortably slow, I'll say now that I will finish mine....... you gonna follow?.....
hmmmm, just realized how much trim is on that 64........

I'm gonna spend the good part of a week bare metal foiling. low riders wouldn't be low riders without all that chrome!! it's a friendly challenge, figured we'd push each other along. of course, you have to build faster than me cause I will be stealing all your ideas. |

Thanks for the reply's guys... So first off lets get the bigger jobs out the way, which means getting the hacksaw out.... katana_zpsefydonpk I started by chopping the inner fenders off, then cutting any bumps off the firewall ! After sanding the firewall flat I made 3 plastic panels and added these, smoothing them in with a little putty... The firewall was then glued to the floor pan, using the inner door panels as a guide to make sure it fits !   |

Full on Transformer, I like that... e5037457_zpsameexuws Wanted to open a door, luckily I had a spare, warped body for a 64, so I hacked a door off that ! Marking it with a sharpie pen makes it easier to see ! The problem with cutting the doors out is the window surround, and the thin sill at the bottom, both super awkward ! So I used the donor door and cut the door out my good shell. Just gotta make up hinges, this is mocked up with the kit wheels, but I've got Pegasus ones to use ! Also look out for a sharp mold line just above the badge on the boot, best to smooth this off !   |

NICE WORK !!!!! It is difficult opening doors, and building all the inner sills is a task you have now got to look forward too mate.

looking good. love the single door opening. cuts the building time way down and still is very appealing. nice work on the firewall too. didn't think about flattening mine.... hmmmm. getting those inner fenders out of the way dictates this thing will be sitting on the ground.
btw - I haven't been in the model shop in a week, I have to get going or it will be just another failed MOTM build for me.

Come on Tubbs, I want to see you finish yours mate... Thanks mustang , It just seems like this one wants to take its time..... gaah Anyway I had a good weekend on this, got the engine started and the interior. The engine is pretty much out the box, with lots more chrome ! ! Lots of little bits still to do, including wiring it all up, but its getting there..  And I started the interior... By cutting out the door panel, and then smoothing the floor and the door panels out ! I also made up the boot sides too.. Confused ?? Well I have lots of fur, felt and chrome card so I'm hopefully scratch building a whole fur interior, with mirrors and deep button upholstery ! ! More soon but here's the basic floor, and a pair of scratch built front seats......    |
