Thanks, yes mustang the alternator is a chrome piece with the bracket attached,straight out the box. If you've not built one of these Impalas I highly recommend them. Lots of little details like this come as standard, its more like a Tamiya kit than Revell !!

Progress !! Bananezorro Been spending a bit more time on this, and its up on wheels ! Not added a great deal, disc brakes all round (still to be wired..) new chrome shocks and boxed rear trailing arms . Still have a chrome prop and exhaust to add, the engine is just sitting in place.. Just to add a little sparkle, I added a little chrome, just a subtle hint to add interest.. Bananezorro   |

Thanks for the replies guys, glad your enjoying it ! Good news is I got a few more bits completed, bad news is a busy week at work coming up , so progress will be slow...But I'm still hoping to finish it ! The engines glued in, and the chassis attached to the floorpan, which is painted a colour called `chrome yellow` ( more chrome... 84 ) I've added a firewall cover, fuel tank, exhausts with brass ends, prop shaft, rear shocks, and the wheel nuts. All in chrome for a change ! Just the radiator assembly to go, then Bodywork....  More soon hopefully...  |

Thanks guys ! Well I'm cutting it fine to get it finished, but I'm pleased to say its finally in paint ! Now this was never going to be anywhere near a DeeCee paint job, but its good enough for me ...  I went with a plain colour as the interior is a bit lively, Tamiya chrome yellow, and the chrome trim is a mix of foil and pens. I've actually run my 1mm pen out of the shiny stuff ...  The Revell decals include all the badges, so these have to be added ( I smoothed all these off ) and there's new door handles to add. After that final assembly and I'm there ! ! Next pics after this will be finished shots, but heres one of the paint ...   |

Thanks stitch, yes I love those pens, going to order 2 more soon as I used 1 up on this. If you look at the door, the side trim is BMF and the window trim is done with pens ! I then did all the straight trim on the roof in foil though, as its hard to do straight lines with the pens. I find the smaller, bumpy bits like manifolds work best and I avoid flat surfaces that I can do in foil !

DeeCee I'm soooo close but this things fighting me every step of the way !
The dashboard was in, and fitted, and now its way off so I've had to cut it out again..... gaah
I glued the glass in with superglue, only to find I hadn't cut the quarter window off for the open door... gaah
Oh and I realised I'd forgotten to spray the rear panel yellow ! My 1mm chrome pens run out too so I'm struggling finishing the chrome ! .. gaah
I'm on it now for an hour or two, then work, then back on it this evening ! Hoping to get it up later, why did I pick February to enter this ?? Any other month I'd have days left !!

You'll get there mate, if it helps I think the end unscrews from the pens and the 1 and 2mm should swap from pen to pen
