Todays installment: Yup, ladder bars, and finished carbs. Didn't get the front suspension ironed out yet though. Perhaps the next installment. Fabbed the ladder bars from square stock. LOL...Had to get out the protractor and do some geometry to get the angles right but...Here they are!!As you can see in the installed pic...The reason for the extreme kick up. I really didn't want to mod the floor pan to make em fit. Neither did H/M & Stroppe.LOL...On to the carbs. The cammers ran a pair of 650 CFM Holley vacuum secondary carbs with a single fuel inlet on each. (Fireball Modelworkes faithfully reproduces them ) They were mounted on a factory experimental dual carb tunnel ram. It was essentially a 427 tunnel port head manifold (See Thunderbolt factory drag car) with an open tunnel ram plenum grafted to it.Soo! That's exactly what I did here! The whole thing was then re designed to fit the OHC 427 architecture. The intake was great for top end power without sacrificing too much low range torque.

Next installment: Hopefully front suspension completed and the car sitting on its 4 wheels for the first time since I came up with this crazy Idea 6 yrs ago!! Till next time!!

Todays installment: Not much really, started a new job two weeks ago. Its been tough to find a bit of time to make progress on this beast but...There is some paint on it! Only in the engine compartment though. Oh! and the body is in final prime. The roof on this car was lumpy on top and on the C pillars. My guess on the C pillars is they tried to get rid of the indents for the round Mustang medallions that adorned the pillars on some models. As for the lumps on top??? No idea. Strange though that they got the quarter scoop delete perfect. Otherwise it had the typical mold lines, poor fit of the front fascia to the fenders and surprisingly...No sink marks. Speaking of scoops! I had to fab a Boss 429 style hood scoop for this build. The only stock one in kit form is from a 1/24 scale mustang and too short and dimensionally too big. The drag team cammer mustang had a tall boss style scoop. So I made a pattern. Cut it and fitted it on the hood to see if my "eyeball dimensions" were good or not. I also made a pattern for the hood contour since it isn't flat and incorporated that into the fabbed scoop. Still have to finalize the rear of the scoop and tighten up the fit to the hood. Then do some fill work to finish it up but, it will be just fine!
