Might toss a set on the console with a pentastar key chain, haven't decided yet...

Looking good Pete. What plastic weld do you use? I've only got poly cement or superglue and I'm finding they aren't working too well on my evergreen sheets for some reason. They work fine on the strips just not the flat sheets and my truck has a lot of flat sheet being used

This is what I use now that Tenax 7R is no longer available. Works well and isn't too aggressive.

And now...The moment you have all been waiting for (Drum roll please) Next up will be decals and some clear coat. Really having a hard time putting clear over this base coat. The sheen is dead nuts for a Mother Mopar factory enamel paint finish. I'll decide once the tail stripe and a few other decals are on. Also...Got a message today...My Fireball model works 6 pack set and steel wheels should be here Monday... Stay tuned!!!

Todays installment: No Six Pack parts...Yet, but, I did get the final clear coat on the body. I am considering leaving it alone...No color sanding/buffing. Maybe just a coat of polish and call it good. The sheen is remarkably accurate for a factory paint finish (Maybe a bit too shiny actually) for a mopar. But this will hit the show circuit, whenever that starts up again. Being a judge at these shows myself...I kinow how picky they are about paint finishes. Hopefully the NEXT installment will deal with Six Pack parts and things of that nature...Till next time!!!

I really do NOT know what to say Pete. Perfect paint, perfect details (I REALLY like the power steering lines--nice addition) ....Hell....perfect everything. Looking forward to more of this fantastic build bud.

Todays installment: Six Pack parts!!! Yup, they FINALLY showed up yesterday. (only had to wait 21 days for em) Carbs are super detailed, right down to the linkage and fuel lines. The intake...Well... I think it too big. The detail on it is astounding, right down to the Edelbrock script and firing order cast into it like the real thing. It even has the individual cylinders stamped on each intake runner..Impressive but, it sits proud of the heads. Top of the runners are above the top of the heads. Not cool. In defense of the manufacturer: The instructions state to test fit the intake and adjust the head orientation accordingly. I know better too soo...Built engine ahead of time , not going backwards at this point...I'll make it work. loosly wired up the engine as well. I will finalize fit and positioning once the intake is permanently mounted. Got to run the fuel lines before I can glue the wires to the distributor... Next installment should be a finished engine ready for final install and a decision will have to be made regarding tires. Thanks for following along and stay tuned!!

It doesn't apply to an awesome build like this, but if the car turns out a bit rough I recommend accompanying it with one of the many under-dressed female figures available to distract from any quality issues with the vehicle...
Hasegawa seem to be including these as standard in their new kits of classic American machines, possibly trying to distract the purchaser from the fact they're old-school wire-axle kerbside jobs...

M

Thanks Leon... Ok gang! Had a setback today, self inflicted I might add. I just couldn't let the poor intake fit on the engine pass. It sat way too high between the heads. I could have concealed the issue to a degree with some wire routing and other plumbing but...After a test fit of the complete engine in the engine compartment, with the body in place. I was not going to be able to close the hood. No getting around it, I have to build another 440 and mod it so the intake fits properly. I swear the intake is 1/24th scale! Soo, I yanked the 440 from my old Charger Daytona project and built it to fit this intake. I had to cut the vally pan all to heck to clear the bottom of the intake runners and then add some .015 thick plastic sheet to the bottom of the heads to raise em up enough for the intake to sit between them properly. Of course this means the heads are now further out from the crank centerline than originally meant to be. This will throw off the exhaust manifold locations and the exhaust pipes where they mate to the manifolds. Probably going to cause a few interfearance problems in the engine compartment too. Should have called this installment "how to build a 1/24 scale 440 the hard way" LOL... Hey! its just like the real thing...Aftermarket parts never fit without some mod or secret handshake to make em work. Only difference is cost, even that's debatable at this point. Stripped this poor thing like a thanksgiving turkey!! However...I do have to make a decision on tires...We all know how wheels/tires and stance can make or break a cars look. Soo...Firestone blue lines or Good Year Polyglass GTs' Heres a few pics...Unfortunately stance is not going to be what you see in the pics. These cars all sat like dump trucks off the show room floor, so I will reproduce that look.

I think the polyglas suit it better, the bluelines look out of place/clash against the green, but red lines might work also. Bad luck on the intake but I'm sure your next engine will be just as good.
