Hi everyone, This is what I am building for the 3rd Anniversary build off. I have previously built a version of this truck but with an older kit, but wanted to make it with the updated kit. My other build was in the colour scheme from 2014 and this build will be in the current colours (2019) This time round I am going with this resin trans kit which is the current version of the real truck. So I have layed out all the pieces ready to see what I am working with. The yellow pieces are the resin parts and the rest are part of a donor kit.

cant-believe-my-eyes-smiley-emoticon WOW! You don't muck around do you... One of my favorite teams in the Supercars, i saw your last version, that was just awesome, so i expect you to step up even further now that you have all that experience.. Thanks for joining in, and i hope you enjoy the build process as much as we all do.

Before starting I had the lovely task of cleaning up all the resin parts. They were all in pretty good condition, mainly just needing a wash for painting later on. First step is working out the chassis length, using the chassis from a donor kit to add to the (resin) rear suspension and chassis. I put the basic set up of the resin chassis together so I could work with the shaping. Then moved onto the donor kit. Took a bit to figure out the length I was going to need, but with the help of my previous model I was able to work on the measurements from it and work back from there. I found the length I needed and checked where it linked up with the cross members and thankfully it all fits together.

Your off to a good start, I wish transkits for cars were that detailed Its been pretty good to work with, just following the instructions and working with a model that I'm familiar with helps too. This is my 3rd volvo

So here you can see some of my OCD showing, having everything set out so I know what I am working with. You can see my laptop with reference pictures as I try to work out where everything goes. I have the rear suspension set up all put together and have it ready to attach once I make sure that my measurements are correct. To do this I have played around with the cab, cleaning up the various parts and seeing how they will fit together. My excitement to see how it will look completed had me playing around with this for a little while. I have also started on the engine, slowly getting several parts together.

Some call it OCD, others just call it perfection... i go with the latter one. That is one seriously tidy work bench, and that rear end looks pretty much perfect.. It's hard to go wrong with such a great teacher..

I call it ATD: Attention To Detail.
Looks like you're making good progress sir.
This will be a seriously cool display piece. emotion-11

Looking good, a bit of OCD helps in our hobby, it what makes an average build exceptional !
It's also worth planning it all out, looks like you got that bit sorted too.. Looking forward to more on this !

I have put the chassis together and temporarily have the engine in place to make sure that it all fits together. Starting to look at where the guards need to go and how I will attach these as well as making sure that I have enough space between the guards and where the cab will sit, for the fuel tanks. So far so good. I love how I can start to get a feel of how it will end up looking.

So time to start organising some paint. I have sorted out the pieces that I know need priming and that I can set aside for painting later such as the cab. There are still some pieces that I need to attach to the chassis such as the guard brackets but that can be sorted later. For now its just getting some paint on to keep it moving along. live.staticflickr.com/65535/48499759927_af48c68147_b.jpgPriming has been done and I have started with the black for the chassis.
