Really stepping up your painting game here! I'm impressed. Loving the stipes! Everyone loves some good stipes!! Things have slowed up with masking the cab and getting the colours on. Been fiddling with some other clear coat brands after the clear on the Nissan reacted with the metalic. Hope not to bugger another one up.

Well guys, it looks like the due date has arrived too early. Still have heaps to go but it is getting there. Here's where I'm at. Stripes are on the cab and bonnet. I was going to leave it like this but had too much time travelling to Wagga last weekend to think and decided some pinstripes would add to the look. Long way to go with this little detour but hopefully the result will be worth it. Got my wide drive tyres done, they are the ones on the outside with the middle one being a "standard' super single.

Thanks guys, I had my usual burst of self doubt but got over it. Had to change some of my ideas on the pinstripe colours as the main stripes overpowered them or the colour on the decal was too washed out/opaque? to stand out. All came from the $5.00 bin at 1 of the local auto shops!

I have to keep lining this build up with a fence post to see if it is still moving! It is but it's being a PITA. Progress to date. Supersingle drives are on. Once the tyres were done, I trimmed down the 10 stud rim so it would into the end of a piece of aluminium tube that fitted the inside diameter of the tyre. I then polished up the inside of the tube( bugger of a job) and made a bigger drum for the rear of the rim to give it the right track. Going to keep the chrome turntable for the bling factor. Some tail lights are in but all the reds I thought I had are actually orange face%20in%20palm_zpsmit8xdak. I blame old age!! Engine, radiator and front wheels are also done. The last pic is rubbish but I'm pretty happy with the height of this thing with a straight chassis. Decal-ling of the stripes continues, some of the pinstripes stay together and go on nice, others float apart in the water like my dreams of being a kept man and high end gigolo. rolling

Finally finished putting the decals on this and managed to have a F Off early Friday so got it clear coated as well. Pretty happy with the result. The light green decals put up a fight, clear coat, hair spray didn't do anything to help keep them from floating apart!!!Had to go outside one night and have a long look at my life choices after a night of dissolving pinstripes but at least the model didn't become airborne! The yellow and gold stripes went on well, any errors are mine due to haste and being up past my bed time rolling. Used some of the left over pieces to bring the outside colours into the cab. Not counting the seats, 176 pieces of pinstripes were used (not counting when they broke and 1 piece become 3 etc!!) Plan is to knock this over on the weekend.

Thanks gents. This is the final progress update on this. As you can probably guess, I've hit a few unexpected hurdles, some of which I've overcome, some I've reduced and some I'm learning to live with. Interior mock up using as many of the exterior colours as possible. Like an idiot, I forget to get a pic of the dash but I did it in the same green as the seats. This one shows radiator hosing and engine pipes. I used a flexible rubbery pipe from Auslowe for this. Simple to use but does tend to get in the way of cab mounts etc. The finished pics are in the big rigs build folder. Thanks to everyone who has followed along and offered support and suggestions, truly appreciated. You guys rock! praising-the-lord-smiley-emoticon
