Yeah that's the plan. It's been a big learning curve but I'm really happy with the results. The support and encouragement I get here is awesome motivation. Good to hear mate, that is what it's all about i think, helping each other, so everybody enjoys building.

That pin striping is the cherry, shame you had dramas. I couldn't see any of them in the pics.

Thanks for the tip Leon, I'll give that a go next time. The paint 'problem' is sort of prismatic, shows up more 1 way than the other, some light worse than others I%20dunno_zpsgjbxiscc icon_hmm_zps07rcoppf. Anyway, thanks for the comments. It's along way round this with decal pinstripes!!!!

The proofs for the door decals have turned up and all seems to be good. The lady who does them for me is really good ( or so it seems to me). I give her some rough sketches and measurements of what I want and she tidies it all up, corrects the font sizing so that the length suits the height etc. She then emails this sheet with the finished sizes and notes on it for me to check that it's all ok then she does the decals. I've got all the cab pistriping done and couldn't resist sitting it on for a look. Once the door decals come, I can clear coat it. I cut the slats out of the grill ready for something a little more interesting. Also started on making a front bumper as well.

Taped this tow body up about 5 times before I was kind of happy. Wanted to keep the majority of it silver but it made it look like an add on not part of custom truck. Still not sure that I have nailed it but am pretty happy with it all in all. I think by the time I get the pistripes, lights and locker handles on that they will help trick it up. Boom is also done. Won't have enough black pinstripe to finish the tow body so hopefully more arrives soon along with the door signs etc, then I can clear it all and start final assembly.

Thanks all, the pinstriping goes on and on and on......... Wanting to get it all done so it can all be clear coated at the same time. It's too late to be any help to you now but if your passing a decent artist supply store look for faber and castel fineline pigment pens. supposed to be used for watercolours but i find they work on auto acrylic too. they work well for pin stripes if you use them between clear coats. just a normal flatting off the first clear coats then draw out the pin stripes, leave over night to dry then carry on with the clear. take care not to touch the lines though, they will smear but clean up is simple, just a damp kitchen towel. i've also used those gel pens for striping but they take a bit more work and need 2 or 3 goes of pen, clear, pen, clear etc
