Imgar? Imgur? Now I'm not a computer guy at all but it seems to work with Google chrome. Had no luck with any others but probably my fault I'd suggest. If it had an 18 speed Eaton I'd be ok! Appreciate any help you can give. To give you an idea of my internet service, to download a picture onto the forum where we met takes 3 -4 minutes!! Welcome to rural NSW.

Rural NSW... try rural Tasmania mate, we weren't even on the map at the Olympics.... If you load your pics on to FLICKR, , it is free, there is a tutorial on here, how to load pics mate, we don't have an inbuilt loader, as it costs quite a bit of $$$$ to do that, and we don't want to charge people for the privilege,.. and i know i can't afford to empty my pockets either.. i spend it all on plastic, not technology..

Ok so maybe i have this worked out and maybe not. This kit is the Tyronne Malone Pappa truck. I've added a section from another cab to make it longer. Using the tow body from the Can Do Wrecker, making it a tri drive twin steer.

Cheers mate. It's not the most organised thread ever but I think you can get the jist of it. I'll get some more photos downloaded and hopefully they'll show where I'm headed. Still got a few battle scars to fix up on the cab but I wanted to make sure I could get the joins smoothed out first - nearly there.Sanded the rivet detail off, made the whole task a lot easier.

This is the original chassis with the extension I added for the third axle. I had to raid the spares box for brake boosters and the like. It's an old chassis being rebirthed. This is the third axle. I didn't have enough original Kenworth looking parts to make a tri drive so I made a pusher axle from bits from the spares box and scratch. I made a subframe for the wrecker body to help it sit a touch higher to help overcome the difference between it and the cab. The pink section to the left of the fuel tank bracket is another 30mm piece I had to add into the chassis so I could fit the fuel tanks without shortening them and the aircleaners etc behind the cab.

Thanks Dale. It's turned into a bit more work than I was expecting. Turns out that all the chrome work for the wrecker went walk about before I got it so going to go to Plan B when I work out what that is I%20dunno_zpsgjbxiscc

Thanks gents. Plenty of inspiration to be found on this forum!! Not going too far with the detailing of this especially what will be hidden by the tow body. I'll be happy if the joins in the cab aren't visible!!

Would look great with a big scratch built grill and a huge front bumper too.... Imagination is the only thing that stands in the way mate.

Slowly getting all the bits onto this. Been a real case of trial and error, test fit after test fit. Using and old chassis and bit and pieces from here and there hasn't helped. The new cab mounts and aircleaner brackets and pipes are on as are the exhaust brackets. I shaved off the molded on flares along the cab sides and replced them with some from Auslowe for more Aussie look. They recommend that the cab is raised 2mm to maintain the correct look which I did. The instructions for the aircleaner pipework don't mention this so I had to redo the pipes up the back off the cab to suit but other than that the after market stuff went together pretty well. I think I'll stick with the round tops rather than the air ram tops. I added the white brackets under the battery box to mount some mudguards from and an airtank. Didn't put one on the drivers side as the twin steering linkage gets in the way. I cut down the power steering? reservoir to match the one on my reference photos. This photo shows the cab mount, exhaust support bracket and mudflap bracket between the second steer axle and fuel tank. I'll give the chassis another hit with primer and see how it comes up and do a few other bits while I'm at it.

I like all that plumbing up the rear of the cab, and the round intakes do look better mate. The thing with trucks, is there is just so much detail.... Maybe this is why i shy away from them, and i have no clue where anything goes either..

The pics don't show the colour too well at all but it's Wild Violet purple. I didn't have a colour that I liked for the engine so I had a crack at mixing my own which seems in the ballpark depending on what reference pic you look at. Started to do some repairs and mods to the cab, repaired the missing quarter window and windscreen stays. Squared up the corners of the cabs where the new cab mounts sit so they are fully supported. I had to add a piece of plastic to the grill side of each of the resin headlight quarter panelsas they are too short and there was a gap either side of the grill when it went in. I also added the small grill to the front. It isn't correct as it should be 2 panels not 1 but I think this is better than none at all. I'll fill the one on the far side. Still have to do things like wiper mounts, rescribe toolbox lines and a final fill and sand. I have sanded the cab rivet detail off as I lost some during the cab extension, hopefully the paint will help hide the fact. I had painted all the bits I wanted chrome with a new paint that I hoped would be a bit tougher than Alcad. The man at the paint shop said I wouldn't be disappointed - he was wrong so now I'm back to the Alcad. When I was given the tow body it didn't come with any of the taillight assemblies so I'm going to blank the holes over and see if I can come up with another plan.

More great work there mate, and Ford Wild Violet... a beautiful shade of purple, used it many times. Is the body going that same color ? as it will really pop against a silver working section.

Yep the paint will be the wild violet and light silver in some version of traditional Kenworth striping with black and gold pinstriping- I hope! Have painted up a spare bonnet for a practice on the sanding and polishing but the weather stopped the final clear going on. Tried pink pinstripe but wasn't sold on it.So far the Holts paint has been a winner and the acrylic clear didn't worry the pinstripe decals, keen to get colour on but need to get the cab prep better first.
