I had a hard time deciding which of my VW kits to choose, but I do have quite a few of them, lol. In the end I went for a tamiya bug but now I have to decide how I want to build it given all the differing styles that suit a bug. Do I go modern with big rims, 60's drag, 80's cal look, resto cal, custom, the list just keeps going on and on but since I have so many wheels and parts I should be able to choose any of the styles, lol.

Good choice. Probably your favorite theme yet, Les. Show us what you got!

Made a start tonight. So far I've just modified the front suspension but if it had springs instead of torsion bars it could be made to work. I started with the stock front suspension, and drilled each of the outer suspension pieces into the centre bars and then I cut the parts off on the molding where the 2 parts on the 1/1 would join. I cut down some sewing pins which were then put through the holes on the outer parts and glued only on the centre piece so the outer parts now move. Once I get to final assembly I will be gluing these parts to stop the movement but for now it wil make sure all 4 wheels touch the ground when finished. The stock part- Drilled out edges- And 2 different pics of the modified part in different positions-

That stance is way better, and looks real tough..... as tough as a VW can look anyway.. The things you find for modeling, "Push-Pop" fasteners... unbelievable, but they look like they have done the job perfectly. Your in your realm on this one mate, knock it out of the park.. !!

So I started filling the seat backs tonight. It was all going well until I removed the tape I had masked the front with. I'm not sure what happened tonight but I've used the acrylic nail filler before without any problems but for some reason this time it melted one of the seats pretty badly (could it have reacted with the glue on the tape?) and I'm not sure if they will be usable now. And Deecee stole my paint colour before I got that far, but I have more paint so it's not a problem
