I'll try my hand at building something. It's not quite pro-touring and not pro street. I bought the kit from Michaels a couple of years ago for the Hemi and I had no real inclination to build it until I saw the Peter Sagan Charger
Although I like the overall look, there are some areas where I would like to go in a different direction. With the Hemi gone I'll stick to the 440, which is what Sagan used and punched it out to 572 inches, so I'll say I'm doing the same. I considered twin turbos because I have a pair but ended up deciding to mimic the Sagan setup of using a blower.

If this is anything like the Revell 69 Charger then you sir are in for a treat. The assembly process is one of the smoothest I’ve seen. Looking forward to seeing this one being built up.

Interesting! A 1970 Charger with a 1969 Charger front grille and 1968 side markers and triple taillights.

Interesting! A 1970 Charger with a 1969 Charger front grille and 1968 side markers and triple taillights. I was surprised when I read the article that it was actually a 1970. I'd had the pic for a while but didn't read the article until yesterday.

Hey Gang, I hope Christmas was pleasant for you. I did a bit on the Charger.
I decided to use some drag radials on it. Yeah I know they're borderline legal but I didn't want to go really fat and have to back half the chassis but I wanted some wide meat that could theoretically handle a blown engine. Although they would have fitted stuffed up in there I didn't like the look. Also, the wheel wells were flat at the top to clear the body and there was a limit to how low the car could go. That said I went the mini-tub route. I cut the front wheel wells from an old 06 Camaro chassis I had.
....and the tire fit.
With the mini-tubs in it was clear that the interior would need some work to make it all fit. The pic below shows the interior pan as it fitted before rework. Sorry for the huge pic, I thought I reduced it.
In order the keep the package tray int the stock position I had to add a styrene strip to hold it up before I cut the end pieces which were the only thing holding it up.
...and the result
And so then I had to cut the seat and interior panels to make them fit, which I wasn't sure at this point that they would. Actually, I thought I might have to go without a back seat, but it came out okay.
I had already decided to use some sport seats I had and once I realized that I could use the backseat, I wanted the front seats to match the back seats so I skinned the stock front seats and used the upholstery on the sport seats.
Right now I'm working on some front and rear fascia mods. Nothing crazy but definitely notable.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to post a quick update to share the changes to the front and rear fascia. Also I mocked up the engine to see if the blower was at the right height.
Both front and rear bumpers will be body color, so I wanted to mount them on the car prior to paint. For the front, the roll pan really does roll under the car, and as such it normally goes on after the chassis is installed. Since I didn't want that, I wound up fabricating my own pan using parts from the bin. I believe the spoiler is the rear spoiler from a 97 Mustang, with the location for what is now the license plate was the high mounted brake light. Methinks anyway.
For the rear, I added what was originally going to be an exhaust port, but now I'm not sure. It might just be decorative. I like it though.
I also added a strip of styrene to close the gap at the bottom of the bumper. You can see where I still need to fill some seams but overall I think it works. Oh yeah, and I also removed the bumperettes and added that plate holder for giggles.
Here's an overhead shot of the blower. To clear the stock pulleys I fabricated an extension for the blower pulley. It sticks out a bit far but the only option is to fab a serpentine belt setup for the accessories, which would pull the blower pulley in about 2mm, but I'm not sure I can pull that off, but there's also the issue of radiator interference so I may have to. Btw, that's not the hood I'm using. It had a hole in it so I just cut a slit for the pulley assembly.
Thanks for looking and commenting.

Cool, your body mods have cleaned the lines well. Subtle but it works well. I hope you can solve your engine issue, it looks right hanging out like that

Hello Everyone! I've been struggling with the suspension mods so I had to back off for a bit to think things through. I decided to fabricate an IRS instead of using the 4-link as I previously mentioned. There just wasn't enough room for it and I didn't want to cut the floorboard. I fabricated the front suspension from bits from the parts bin so I could get it to sit lower. I've still got to add some finishing touches to both front and rear though.
I completed the engine as well. Here is the engine, and a mock-up of the suspension. The stance looks okay, but I'd have liked it a tad lower in the back, but this will do. Thanks.

Nice engine mate, and the rear suspension looks great too, but your right, a little lower in the rear. If you do cut the little bit of floor between the rails, the diff centre will drop, that would be the easiest fix mate. Looking very tough though.

That engine is pure evil! Stance isn't terrible, but would be awesome a tad lower.
