There is a lot of Modern Retro going on here mate, much like we see on these Kindig etc programs, those door trims look great Steve.

I love the scratchbuilding Steve. The flush console is great. The door panels are sleek and I like the half round continuing onto the dash. What I really like about this build is that it is all you. The only thing that is the kit is the lump of plastic that looks like a Charger. The rest is unbridled imagination and creativity. Good on you mate. This is fun to watch. I should mention, although it goes without saying, that I reserve the right to snag ideas from you and use them to further my own musings. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Dale,Mark and Joe really appreciate your comments. Trying to build this one as if I was building a 1:1 for myself, thought it was going to be a breeze to build but trying to make it look right has taken quite a lot of build time just thinking and planning and am happy where it is going although the purists wont think so but we are on a custom model forum. Mark sometimes I think Im a bit long winded explaining what I have done and what I have used but if any info helps out one person just once then Im happy, another reason why I consider this forum as the forum as everybody tries to help each other.

I don't think you're long winded at all. I appreciate the explanations. I do the same thing for the same reason. It helps us all.

Thanks Les , she is okay just a bit of a scare to the family, she needed a ct scan and that turned out okay, then lumber puncture thinking it was meningitis but turned out a severe migraine, feel sorry for those who experience them all the time as I never realised just how bad they can get during one

Hello Steve,
Just a thought, I think the Charger would look really cool with tinted quarter glasses and a tinted back glass.
Just a thought.

I love the way the bumpers have been tucked in... a very nice modern custom job, which really makes this build stand out mate.

Was looking at the body last night and with all the time I spent on this something looked different then realised that they used the charger 500 as a carry over for the stock charger as the whole rear window section is wrong for the stock version. Luckily its been that modded it no real issue but would have been annoyed if I was going the stock route.

Holy cow you're right! It had the flying buttresses like the GTOs etc.
I guess it worked out with the "flushed in" theme you have going.
I do see your point though.

Working on the exhaust last night and not my favorite thing trying to get both sides looking the same and even but getting there. Trying to get everything as close to the floor pan as possible as there is not a lot of room between the floor pan and the road. Cheers and thanks for looking

With my dad having his own muffler/ exhaust shop I've always had a really keen eye for exhaust systems. I like 'em to look nice and even as well and this system right here spot on.

I don't know if the chronology fits, but I suspect the problem is a carry over from MPC's 1/16th Chargers. They started as the Petty NASCAR charger (whose relationship to a stock charger was only skin-deep) which then became the "Street Charger" and then the "General Lee". The 1/25th MPC "General Lee" seems to have inherited the bodywork error although having a more stock set of underpinnings (such as they are). I understand Round Two have now issued a "General Lee" with the correct body, I don't know if it's still moulded in orange...
Regards,
M

Thanks Joe, was worried it wouldnt look right, just have a couple of tiny adjustments then I will be done with the exhaust and will add some polished aluminum tube for the exhaust tips. Thanks moramarth for all the information on this kit and it origins
