Just ordered a couple of the new revell split screen camper vans, the pics look good and it has a full camper interior. I'll be doing a review of it when they arrive

My campers arrived the other day but i didn't have my camera handy. I had to get 2 of them simply because its a vw and it will save me buying more later. Looking through the contents it has both flat glass and vented glass but that appears to be the only option If you like vw vans I highly reccomend this kit and hope the after market bring out some extras for it such as interior junk and different decals for the seats

I had the same problem with the Mustang II Python kit, although that really only needed stock wheels and a front bumper. I don't trust anything with that style of box art any more! However, that version of the Matador seems to be a bit of a rare bird so it might be worth building OOB or hanging on for a while and selling it on. I recently passed on the re-released '63 Galaxie (some of the custom options were hideous) but having watched a couple of the big beasts fighting it out at the Goodwood Speedweek on the TV this afternoon I'm tempted to get one and do it as a racer...
Regards,
M

I think I might be able to cut the centre out of the hood and use it to build something a little flatter and pull in the centre of the front panel to nearer stock. The square lights are starting to grow on me though so they'll probably be staying

Just ordered another couple of tamiya bugs cos I've run out of them. I've also ordered a 3d printed body of a vw type 3 notchback from shapeways so thats one bug spoken for. I'll be getting some more bugs next month too as I still have more of them I want to build

Haven't been in here in a while Les. Sorry bout dat potna! That body looks a little rough but workable. Great subject matter for a future project!!! Its a little pebbly but I've got worse in resin. I'm thinking about making it more stock looking and possibly seeing about getting it cast so I have afew copies I can try making into a fastback and squareback versions. I'll also be able to stretch it behind the door as this one seems to be shortened to fit the tamiya bug chassis. Theres a guy local that does resin casting for a few companies so it shouldn't be too bad to get done.

A big delivery day today but some are things you've seen already so I wont picture them. The stuff without pics is another tamiya karmann ghia that arrived with the body damaged so I've been given a full refund on that and got to keep the kit. I've also received another couple of tamiya bugs with even more on the way. On with the pics. First we have some aircooled vw rims that I commissioned from dimitry at diolex production. I've used these rims in 15" diameters on my current bug builds but these are 17" for the rada and raider 5 spokes and 18" for the brms. Even though these were a custom order he didn't charge any more than normal. They didn't come with tyres as he doesn't make tyres to suit so I will be searching for narrow low profile tyres. Any leads on finding them will be greatly appreciated. Next we have the vw golf rallye trans kit also from diolex. This is to fit the fujimi mk2 golf kits Now from ARM in france we have a 3 door mk3 golf but I can already see the rear side windows are wrong being too short. Finally we have the foose pick up. I intend to use the chassis under one of the moebius pick ups or maybe a squarebody step side since I traded away it chassis and suspension for some 40 ford ppick upo fenders (the guy I traded with was in the usa so I made sure the trade was worthwhile for him due to the postage costs) Since the rallye is curbside I might add it to the current glut of vws I have going

Some more stuff. 2 of the new vw bay windows. its better than my pic, the camera warped it. Their snap kits but i dont mind that. I'll be getting more of these and the upcoming camper version The lamborghini will not be a lamborghini when i build it, its getting the front swapped for an old gt40 to make a vw sportscar from south america and finally a baja bug for the tamiya beetle kit (i didn't picture them but i now have 9 unbuilt and 4 in the build)

I am still working on the 36 but haven't really got anything ready to show yet. Should be an update soon though. I got a cheap joblot of uncomplete kits delivered from america for a price that was too good to ignore a there was only one bid. Most are missing wheels or engines but i usually change them anyway and 3d printing means there are loads more options which i'm taking advantage off. first up is a peterbilt truck, it appears to be complete but the previous owner must have shaved his beard (I hope) into the box. I know that he had grey hair and a couple of inches long beard. A bit of a gross find but I washed the kit parts and the kit is nice. 1934 roadster, appears complete model a delivery. the front of the roof has been cut off but the part is there so an easy enough fix as i wont be having opening doors model t sedan. already have one but i have a roadster body that should fit squarebody pick up, 1/25 scale. appears mostly complete and theres a couple extra pick up chassis jag xj220 missing parts but i have the missing parts left over 1/16 lamborghini, missing interior and glass honda integra? missing chassis parts and glass dodge pick up, missing wheels but came with a v10 trans am snapper and 63 corvette, appear complete dodge and plymouth, appear complete dodge charger, mostly complete jeep monster truck, everything seems to be well done and i like the builders plan so will probably continue it but as a show truck dodge suv, missing hood but theres a extra 1/24 squarebody one i might be able to fit varrious parts still to sort. hopefully more of the missing parts will turn up chevy vans, should get 2 out of these not too bad a score for what i paid

Nice score Les, I have that Jag too, it has some great lines to make a wide body "something" down the track.
