1966 Chevy Flatbed for hire - Updated 8/10

Ever since I heard this one was coming out, I wanted to build it. Even though this would look great dropped, with black steelies and a patina paint job, I decided to try and make it fit the theme. I've been working on it for about a month but it has been soooo slooooow to advance. I'm going to see if MOTM motivates to spend a little more time on it. Even though I'm probably making it more difficult for myself with certain things, here goes...

First this is the truck that I took a few ideas from:







I started by setting the stock bed aside and going for a scratch-built flatbed. I used the original bed as a template underneath so I could just drop it on the plastic chassis. It is a little longer than the original, by the way.








I found some bigger tires and wheels I could use. They are for a 2 to conversion. May be a little too big but still playing around with the look.









And this last picture is from what I just picked up from storage. I spent an hour trying to find these supplies and brought along a few extras for another project lurking in my mind. But I found some dually wheels that might work better than the 2-ton ones.
