Time for a monster guys, enough of building these mild builds, it's time to pull out all stops and make something that just might be awesome on real life. I am starting with the Foose Firebird, and because it was soooooo difficult to get low, i am going to try something a little left field this time and mate it to a DTM Mercedes chassis.. After a few hours of trimming, this is where i have got. And this IS where the rear wheel will sit.... might be a problem, but i will sort it out.. More scalpeling to be done yet though.

Wild, I see you're going to have the same problem I did on the skyline with the width but I know you'll have a wild build when it's finished.

I enjoy your builds, Dale. Even more so when you take that knife and start flicking plastic around. Looking forward to this one.

Looks like an awesome build. Will be following. Please keep scalpel in the plastic and not in flesh; you know what a dangerous sport this is frantic

Every time I get into one of these you come in with some outer space monster that just blows me away. It's just the vicissitudes of model building. Good thing I admire you and your work and learn something from everything you build. Looking forward to this one, I know from your attitude about it it will be good. One day I'm going to beat you though. Danged Aussie builders anyway.

I am pleased you learn something though, this is why i put up progress pics, hoping it will help somebody go out on a limb, and chop up a perfectly good model, knowing they can put it back together how they want it to look. Well, on to an update guys, scratching my head among other things on this one..... Looks like something Paul builds with those speedway arches.. While i think on that, i needed to move the front suspension back a few mm, ( tiny bits of an inch).

Cheers guys, well, after a lot of head scratching, i used what was left of the DTM Mercedes, and shaved the guards (fenders) off it. With a little superglue and some putty, i think i'm on the right track. After sanding, i didn't like the profile, so i used the flared lip from the Firebird, and tacked them onto the DTM ones.

Thanks mate, it was a bit of a head #**# , but i am pretty happy with the way they went, and the wheels sit up in there perfectly, a shot of primer tonight to see just how well they actually blend, will be the big test..

Looking good Dale, Those guards blended in nicely. Reminds me the Ken Block Mustang, low, wide and mean. Colour is going to be important on this bad boy, any hints?

thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon So many ideas in the head, thanks guys.... Well, last night was scratch build night, i boxed in the muffler hole, and made a defuser to hide it all, and add to the race look underneath, and found part of a rear wing, so trimmed that and made some supports for it too.
