This one is not for the faint of heart. It is an absolute glue bomb. This is what I am starting with.

In order to get this apart I had to use a small pry bar to get the chassis off the body. There was about a tube of glue under the trunk tub holding the back of the chassis on and the trunk tub was also glued into the back of the body. This required me to snip away at the back of the chassis ruining the back of it in the process. The interior tub also was destroyed having to break it in many pieces to get out of the body. The body had hairline cracks in the back and just behind the interior on the top that got worse and will need repairs.

Next was to grab a spare warped chassis I had and cut the back section needed off of it. Then I cut the remaining bad portion of the chassis from the chassis I am going to use.

Next was to trim down the pieces of the chassis and size them up right to fit back into the body correctly.

Next step was to drill out both pieces of chassis with a 1/16th drill and add mounting pins to make the chassis rigid so it will not buckle or fall apart.

I did any final adjusting and filing needed and glued both of the chassis pieces together, let it dry, added the temporary stock axles and wheels and just like that the chassis is done and ready for paining to reuse again.

bet you got a few more of those americans around charlie I do but they are 69s. These earlier ones are a bit harder to find and I do have one more in hardtop form I also want to try and save. Want to build both of them stock if I can? Maybe hot rod the hard top a but but save them as best as I can. The problem is these are super glue bombs and are in really bad shape.
