I brought this kit, just for this build, but when i got it home, i found it had no motor, interior was just a dash and seats, and the underneath was flat, as it had a big box under there for batteries !!!! 4fvgdaq_th So, into the spares box, and found the remains of a WRC Corolla i had already taxed for my Dart build, and it almost fits.. Now for the head scratching to begin.. thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon

Cool, you dont see that kit much over here but I have the cabrio version. The big question is will the engine still be in the back?

Dale with a VW? I gotta see this! Close to the ground I'm assuming? Silly question, of course.

Out of my comfort zone for sure guys, but i think enough customization, should pop it back into that zone.. So, i start with cutting, to make the chassis fit the body. Got a bit of a wheel problem though..... that's the next drama, fitting them under the body.

If you have an old revell 1/25. the front suspension from the bug is nearly a straight swap. Saves hours of cutting, and narrows the front end a little lol

OK, i decided to make some more room for the wheels, by widening the fenders a little bit.. One of those old Nascar bodies has donated some bits. And all spray puttied up.

Neat, I like how the widening is very subtle

I think i got caught at a weak moment... But thanks too guys, well, as it had no motor, i made my own from just bits. It is not any particular motor, but JUST a motor.. BUT, it will be in the front.. Way more work to go, and need to strap a Turbo on it somehow yet..

Awesome job on that motor Dale is there anything you don't build yourself? I'm a bit like you i think, I'll have a crack at anything, if it don't work out, i'll try again, No point in giving all our hard earned $$$$$ to those resin guys..

Unfortunately I'm the same Dale would be nice to be able to afford resin parts but with a mortgage, 3 kids and animals its lucky I can afford doing what Im doing now. Last kit I bought would have been before our twins came along and they are over 9 now, lucky I have about 250 in the stash all mopars and about half a dozen other makes and besides a lot of enjoyment is in the scratch building and modifying.

Damn, I'm going to have to change colour now, lol. Looks good though SORRY Mate, i walked out into the paint room with black in mind, then i hesitated, doubt crept in, so i started going through all my paints, and this one just spoke to me,... or was it you speaking to me through the paint... I can't come up with any other sane reasoning... oh_jeez-1018_zpskf8ctjic
