I believe my story is like many. I am near the retirement age. Got hooked into modeling in my youth...cars, planes, ships....... Life swept me away.....found fast cars and fast women and totally forgot about modeling. Met my wife, bought the house and was graced with my son. The college took all my money, but I am left with my home and a wonderful family and a couple of model car kits. All jokes aside, I hobby in 1/25" model cars and "old school" slot car racing. I actually am a kit collector who's favorite kit is the next one I am going to buy. Working on a very thin budget, but having fun doing it. I do have a few kits purchased for building purposes as well as slot car integration as well (see below). I am a newbie and will be hoping to learn some things I can apply to my builds... I am currently doing a few hard body slot cars using 1/25" scale model bodies onto various slot car chassis. I purchased a Revell 1966 Shelby GT 350 Mustang on eBay . A small strip of paper with your website attached to the box with a strip of tape lead me here......

Welcome Sir Gear! I am retired. Custom knife maker for 30 yrs. I built in my youth and got back into the hobby 5 or 6 yrs ago and have been going steady with it every since. When I was in high school my brother owned a huge commercial slot car track so I am a little familiar with slot cars. That was a long time ago. You will like it here and anything we can help with we will be glad to do so and I know we will learn from you as well. Looking forward to seeing some of your builds.

Thank you for the welcome, Gents.....and Iceman...it was you from whom I bought the 65 Mustang 2+2 Fastback. I found the the Shelby GT 350 differs from the base production car obviously in 1:1, but also in 1/25 kit content as well. So I went out and obtained the Monogram '66 Sheby GT 350 kit from where I will source my parts. (And your sealed kit will now reside on my kit shelf with all the many other sealed kits). I do not have a formal painting area nor any painting equipment. I rely solely on the "rattle can" I plan to shoot some Whimbleton White in the cool automotive lacquers by Testors and see what happens. It will be mounted on a 1/24 slot car which has a sidewinder rear motor. I have not closely mocked up the build, but these sidewinder arrangement a lot of times allows me to use a full interior tub. I have got (2) other slot cars waiting for priming and painting, plus additional other small things to make them complete...so this GT 350 will be somewhat down the line....
