I`ve had the King Kong decals for about 3 years now but had to get the car in my head before I could build the car. I will try and build this car as close as possible to the mid 60`s BBC supercharged injected championship winning car . I `ve started of with the skippers critter Anglia .the first thing that was done was to cut the grill from the bonnet and fill the holes . the grill was then fixed to the front wings .the rear arches on the kit are based on the standard Anglia rear wings . these have now been thinned out and the arch raised. here`s how the body looks at the moment

cut the front leaf spring off the Anglia beam axle and made a tube axle. the spring was glued to the tube axle .also cut down the front hairpins of a slingster dragster kit. these were shortened to fit the front chassis and the new tube axle .still got a long way to go but here`s how it looks with the Cragar 5 spokes mocked in place   |

managed to spend a couple of hours on King Kong over the weekend .the engine is plumbed and wired and fitted into the chassis. also got the body ina base coat silver .here`s how the model looks mocked up  |

had a reaction on the paint when I put the candy mix orange on .tried a couple of old ideas to remove the paint no luck. tried a paint stripper , this is what happened to the bonnet/hood the body don`t look to good either.good job I`ve got a stock of Anglia models so will start again on the body  |

had a good day today .managed to get the body in primer ,then silver base coat and 3 coats of a custom mix of candy orange .the colour is pretty close to the Tahitian orange ,might need another coat   |

sprayed another coat of candy orange on ,it`s a bit closer to King Kong`s colour. I think I`ll stop at 4 coats  |

got the decals on today ,still got quite a bit to do. mocked the body ,hood and a door up over the chassis .here`s how it looks mocked up  |
