This one's really starting to take some good shape and that engine looks pretty wild so far there Les. Man do I ever hear you on those "in progress disasters". Just when it seems like you've got everything all figured out and you're moving forward smoothly...............everything just jumps off track!
Hang in there tough guy!! It'll all work out.

Well the engine is mostly finished apart from some foil on the intake still to be done and the intake pipes for the air filters, and the headers which are drying as you read this. I next have to figure out a way to do the hood now as for obvious reasons it no longer fits, rolling And I had to do a quick stance check which told me I need to trim the back of the battery gaah to get one of the front wheels in and lowered. I'm going to modify the kit suspension instead of using the viper front as it will need lots of cutting about to clear the engine and still have the wheels inside the arches.

Where did you come up with those air cleaners? Did you make those? Looks just like the real deal.

I made the gold bits myself from square plastic rod, shaped it a little then added a strip of thin half round plastic around them

Cheers, I just wish revell had put some more effort into having it sit straight instead of crooked. As it is I have to put a small recess in the front panel to get it in but it was either that or have the filters come straight out the front.

Hang in there buddy you'll make it and believe me I know something about slow going. I'm on my forth attempt at the scoop, the first one looked decent but I made it too short, the second was way too square, the third kept falling apart on me until I had so much superglue and baking soda holding it together it would never have painted well so this time I'm remaking the stock scoop just a bit longer.

Ain't model building fun son. Is the stock scoop that much off? There's nothing wrong with the stock scoop, it fit well until I changed the induction and lengthened and raised it up. The front of the stock scoop is fine still (I have a plan) but the rear would have to be cut off to clear the induction

I see what you mean now. I wish I had gotten back in the game when I was younger and had my strength and energy. Now I just don't want to work that hard. I don't like to sand any more than I have to either. Making knives, every one has to be sanded, sanded, sanded, handle and blade until you are so sick of sanding.............

Well I got the filler finished and cleaned up, gave it a couple of coats of filler primer, and my filler is lifting around the edge . Hopefully a good wet n dry tomorrow and more primer will sort it out.
