Hi, I go my the member name of “geardriven”. I was a fortunate member of this site in the past and rode down with it as it “ran out of gas”. My kudos to Joe and all the others who pumped life back into this forum. Of myself: I have had modeling in my blood since my childhood as many others may…..and things like adulthood, marriage, children, etc. has taken the forefront. Nevertheless, I have never lost my love for the model car kit and started collecting kits back in the early 2000s. I would have to say to date. I have amassed about 200 kits….each one personally selected. These selections encompass 1/12, 1/16, 1/25, 1/24 & 1/20 car kits, plastic air planes of 1/32k& 1/24 scale, motorcycles of 1/12 scale, wooden boat kits and the list goes on. During this portion of my life, I encountered divorce with my now ex-wife. I have retained all the kits I have selected and purchased, but living now in an apartment vs. a home of my own, restricts me from using the 30+ cans of lacquer sprays I currently possess. I have not graduated to an air brush as my financial means are very thin. I plant to buy a work bench so I can dedicate a place for model building and resolve these issues I am dealing with. Hello to all the members, old and new….it’s a great hobby……

I'm sorry to hear about the divorce as that is never an easy thing. We are, however, looking forward to having here once again and are looking forward to not only building models with you but getting to know you better along the way. Welcome back GD.

Welcome back mate, i find once you have plastic in the blood, it never really disappears, it may lay dormant for a while, but we all come back to it eventually.

I am toying with the idea of retiring! Still trying to see if I can afford to. If I do and I can figure out an easier way to launch my kayak without killing my messed up back, I'll be on the water a lot more. Hey! it is still involves plastic!
