since i dont like to be without something to putter around with and dont have superglue for the resin parts on my bugs i've decided to defoose the f100 kit. i'll keep the chassis and suspension but the modern engine has to go so i'll swap it with the motor from the revell merc. the wheels will also be from the merc. for the bosy styling i will be going more traditional kustom, probably using an amt bumper and grille pack

These are great kits to work with can be used in a number of ways. So much better than the original Revell F-100 kits....SO much!!

So much better than the original Revell F-100 kits....SO much!! even with all their foibles, i will add a monogram version to my stash. i try to stick to 1/24 scale kits when i can. and thats another advantage to printing, it just takes a couple clicks to rescale files

I pulled off a satisfactory (to me at least) build out of it but man........it was a true nightmare to build.

Very interesting take on the grille Les. What sort of dress up items are you going to be putting on that engine? Looking forward to seeing what you'll be doing to this one.

Very interesting.. Looking forward to see where you take this one.
Oddly enough, I was looking at one of these in the stash this past weekend, wondering of a different direction to go.

THIS is giving me massive "Dream Truck" vibes. I love the 300 grille in it, I sure hope there are canted twin headlights to go along with it.

This has got to be one of the most interesting older F-100 builds that I've seen as of yet Les. You've definitely got my curiosity as well as my interest up man.

You've definitely got my curiosity as well as my interest up man. its heavily inspired by the kustom kulture/viva las vegas cars. i'm hoping to do their paint too if i can find flexible enough masking tape. i've been getting bad results from the tamiya recently, it seems to eat into the paint which it never used to and its wrecked a few painthobs for me.

I was wondering where the inspiration came from for the build Les and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the paint. Interesting about the Tamiya paint giving you fits as I've not heard of that before. Maybe a new formula?
