I originally found this car body when I was around 14 and it was still in salvagable conxition. It was sitting directly on the ground so perhaps it had rusted out at the bottom but what was above the ground was solid. Passenger door even opened and closed once I had dug it out a bit! I never worked my way around to the drivers side to try and open/ close that door but from what I could see was fine.
Another find was a truck from around the 40s. I dont remember this one from my childhood but it looked as though it was more complete than the model A. This one had been pushed over when the woods next to ours was logged about 20 years ago. The chassis with both axles the cab and at least 3 fenders...the left rear still has the bracket with chrome tail light attached! I didn't see the doors but the attach points for the hinges may have rusted away or they may have been ripped off when they pushed it out of the way. Anyway this one is actually mangled and unsalvagable. Another car I really wish I would have salvage 40 years ago is my grandmothers 1957 Ford 300 4 door. It has been sitting in the woods for as long as I can remember. The licenses plate is still bolted to the rear bumper and is dated 64. Its been on blocks and the quarter panels are remarkably still intacted! I see that the rear floor boards are rusted out one rear window was left partally down ( front floors actually still look solid but I did not poke at them ) and the trunk has been left open so I know the trunk floor is rotted out underneith all those dead leaves and pine needles.

Nope...been thinking of pulling the 57 out of the woods to save it and its too far gone gaah I opened the drivers door and the area between the door and windshield is mostly rust. Then looked across to the passenger side and can see the bottom of the front passenger door is gone along with all the body underneith (door seal?) Also the front floors that I thought may still be intact...aren't. So grandma's car will be left to rust in peace... I%20dunno_zpsgjbxiscc
