Now this is an impressive build Pete. The detailing on that 427 is just fabulous with the realistic looking bracketry, electrical and fuel plumbing right on down to the engine oil dipstick on the R/H side of the engine. Interior work is non-stop action as well. Dude.....when you bust out with a build, it's pure magic to see what all you put into it.

The detail you have in the engine, let a alone the entire build, is awesome. My hat's off to ya.

Thanks for the kind words folks! I may have an update if not tonight, then tomorrow for certain. Its almost time to marry the body and chassis for good. That's gonna be interesting! You'll see why in the next update...

Your progress on this looks just great after all of the effort that you're putting into it Pete. It seems that Revell and AMT miss leave alot of things left to be desired when it comes to stance, hood fit (and that includes opening and closing) as well as getting most of the details wrong on these C3 Vette kits. You found a great way to get the hood to sit flush with the body by way of shims and hinged correctly so it would open and close with no issues. I watched several you tube videos of completed Vettes and I just couldn't believe that some of those builders would post a video of a completed Vette that had the rear of the hood sitting below the body line much less with the poor stance and terrible wheel/ tire position relative to the wheel openings. So much stuff to correct on these things from the box to get them to even look right. This here was almost more than I could take when I built the AMT C3 Vette. A molded in park brake handle that doesn't even come close to resembling a park brake handle. They couldn't manufacture a separate piece??!! And then there's the molded in foot pedals??!! Come on man!! Needless to say......those went "bye-bye"

Thanks fellas. Its been a real P.I.T.A.but its getting there...slooowly. I hear yah Joe. Saw the thread you did on that Vette...You got it looking right despite the short falls. Love the battery box too. Was going to do it with mine but the other two that are being built by friends of mine...Opted not to go there. Nor did they want to cut/gut the headlights and fab the stuff to make it look right. Since this is a group build kind of thing with the three of us...I decided to stay my hand and keep it simple. The next one though is all mine and look the f out! it will be off the hook... I hope...

I already know that it's going to be a good build to watch after seeing your work over the years.

Yeah, Its going to be a good one Joe, don't worry. It will be the only L88 Vette factory built for competition...And that's all I'm saying bout it till I'm ready to build it! LOL

Dude.....I've told you elsewhere and I'll say it here.......you frickin' NAILED that stance and wheel/ tire location relative to the wheel openings. Man this thing looks SICK with all of the detailing and work that you've put into it. Your efforts are to be commended pal.

I swear I already posted this. Come back to edit something and POOF it's gone! nowhere to be found...here I go...Again LOL Ok its done. Finally, its been on the bench since the beginning of July. Put all the jewelry on it and those ugly Lexan Sylvania fixed headlight covers on it. Oh and a real nice Model Factory Hiro flip open gas cap. I couldn't resist! Thanks for looking and the comments! It is much appreciated folks. Sorry this wasn't a full build thread but... The next one will be! Now go see it in the finished builds thread!
