I've been planning this build for years now, and bought the kit last year. I delayed because I wanted it to have things mine had that weren't available. However, now that I've gotten a better 3D printer, and am able to fill the gap with what's available with what I can design & print I think its time to get 'er done. In the pic below you'll see some of the stuff I had on the thing. Much of which was already on the car when I bought it in 1979.
The kit did not have power steering, so I bought a printable engine that had it, though I had to design the correct pump for it. It also had a Grant steering wheel, M/T valve covers, and underdash cassette player, triangle air filter with the foam element, Accel Super Coil, Tarantula canted carb intake manifold, and the old 3 gauge pod. You'll also see a Hurst Verti-gate shifter (not recommended for street driving I'll tell ya!), a 750 Holley carb, hood pins, and Edelbrock Vera-jection water injection system. Edelbrock came out with that when fuel quality fell in the early 80's with the switch to unleaded gas.
Anyway, that's the recipe. Time to get cookin'!
The wheels were slotted aluminum. These were gold so I had to strip them.

You have just GOT to love the 3D printing capabilities that we have at our disposal these days and this is a prime example of that fact. I've got a good feeling that this is going to be one epic build. Will be watching this one.
This thread is now bookmarked.

WOW! What an amazing array of parts you have for this build mate, sounds like you have put a lot of thought into this build, i'm definitely looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Well now that the Labor Day weekend is over (visitors, street party, food, etc.) I got some bench time in. I built the engine as I recalled it (tainted with nostalgia and old man memory). I've still got some minor bits to add but nothing of note.
I also decided to start on the interior since I thought it would be simple since I was just adding parts and not really changing anything.
Well, I looked at the seats and just didn't think they were even close to the 1:1's. Nothing much I could do tho, but I designed and printed some new head rests, and added the backs from the 70 Camaro kit. Not perfect, but acceptable.

That big block is looking great with all of the worn parts on there Dennis. I love those intake manifolds too and I'm going to have to grab one or two of those up. Good move on the head rest for the seat too.
