going to start a new build ,I`ve had a nascar ford pick up model for a while and now might be the time to build it. the floor pan will be shortened at the rear by about 10-15 mm as I have a plan to put an English body on the floor pan .everything else in the build will be nascar pickup. the engine will be painted stock colours even though it will be a snarling nascar engine .this is the kit I will be starting with starting with after Christmas

I always liked these trucks. The old Ron Hornaday Napa truck commercials where he forgot his wedding anniversary and sped off the track headed home to his wife were not only funny but did a lot to promote the NASCAR truck racing ckt. I think that was back in 08-09. In any case I'm looking forward to this build.

been doing a little bit today .cut the top off the cage and moved the bottom part forward . this meant I had to shorten the engine bay bars .wait for my plastic rod to arrive so I can make the top part of the cage and all the cross bars to fit the body. the wheels and tyres are slimmer than the nascar wheels and there`s 3mm of clearance on the front wheels (though it does n`t look like it so in theory it should steer)mocked the body over the chassis ,this will be the ride height when finished

Cool, that stance is awesome and the whole build is pretty close to the plan I have for my transit, but I'm going for supervan 2

the full space framed transit MKII that became Supervan III, unlike Supervan which was based on a GT40 chassis. the things Ford of England built back in the day was quite cool.to think everybody was in awe of Renault when in the F1 Espace in the mid 90`s 25 years after Ford done it to a transit

I always prefered the transit, pity they wrecked it to make supervan 3. My version might be on a jag xj220 chassis though since it's about the right size and width.

like the one in Top Gear . I went this route by luck ,I bought the nascar pick up for another build but did n`t work out . .when I heard they re launched the Transit MKII I got one straight away .originals are so expensive. apart from the length of the rear floor pan the axles are in the same place ,as said pure luck

started the top part of the cage as I`m going to use the rear bulkhead, the cage is built to suit .I will drill holes in the rear bulk head so the rearcrooss bars will exit to the chassis. here`s how the cage is shaping up

thanks for the comments guys ,really appreciate it. been finishing of the cages and painted it Ford royal blue .the cage has to go in in 2 parts as the rear bulk head has to be fitted inside the van and the cage has to be fitted to the floor. here`s the 2 parts of the cage cage and bulkhead mocked up. the seat is also mocked up for the height I want in the van .
