I found a gold in my spray paint box called Tamiya TS-75 Champagne Gold and it sprayed nicely over the Tamiya TS-21 Gold that is already on the body. It is not exactly the color I want, but I had it.    More GTO to come... |

Thanks Mike! The box art I am using has the red car cover. The silver box art has the decals and I may use those on that GTO when I build it. For now, I will use gauge decals from my parts box for this GTO.

I assembled the wheels and tires to the GTO. I decided to use the Hurst wheels and the last of my Shabo Tire Graphics. I drilled out the ends of the exhaust system and painted the insides with Tamiya XF-1 Flat Black. I have hand painted many of the parts by hand and will paint the rest with spray cans. I worked on the GTO interior and it is complete! Then I repainted the body with several coats of Tamiya TS-87 Titanium Gold and it came out very well!    More Pontiac GTO to come... |

I was thinking about the missing decal sheet for this GTO and I remembered a set of floor mats on the sheet. I have a Revell '66 GTO kit that has the decal sheet in it and I made a copy of the decal sheet on paper and then I cut them out and inserted them into the interior. Looks good! Thanks Mike! I was wondering what the decal sheet had on it and I have another full kit in the stash. The decal sheet had the floor mats on it and I decided to print them out on paper, cut them out and insert them in the interior.

I have been away for the last 2 1/2 months undergoing knee surgery and suffering some type of modelers burnout. I have been building constantly since I retired some 6 1/2 years ago and I got up to 5 projects on the bench at one time. Enough is enough! I've got to relieve some of this pressure off of myself. Yesterday afternoon, I ordered a Revell Porsche 911 Targa to build the car from TV's Will Trent. That seems to have restarted my resurgence into the modeling world and I decided to clearcoat my '66 GTO that has been sitting in the paintbooth since the end of June. I'll let this set for a couple of days to dry and harden. Have a look!    More GTO to come... |
