Another SUPERB looking rig mate, love that color, and all those small details really make this build stand out, i have been up and down the screen 3-4 times and finding more great work each time, you are the man when it comes to the Big Rigs mate. The best way to remove those ridges is 3-4 clear cotes, then lightly sand, and then more clear... but it can go wrong pretty quickly too... i know from experience mate.

Like Dale, I went up and down the screen several times in looking at this rig and only by closely looking did I see the things that you are talking about. I think as builders, we are our own worst critic. This equates into the fact that the onlooker won't even see half of what we see as we're building a beauty such as this up. Personally, I think you did an excellent job of bringing this one home.

Cheers mate, I really need to find an old cab and just jump in and give it a go and learn. Wet sand? what grit? I know you've probably told me before but this time I WILL write it down.

Les, thank you!. I know trucks aren't everyone's cup of tea but I really appreciate the interest you guys show in them.

I think you are right and I think the key is to learn from what we didn't like and to try and improve on it next time.

On a fresh paint job, use 2000 grit wet/dry, but give it a couple of days to dry if it is acrylic, and lightly WET sand it , then give it another clear cote, this usually removes the "edges", you can repeat the process if you want it smooth , and even do it again if you want that glass feel. And yes, have a play on an old body, to see how far you can rub it back before it eats into the edge detail.

Beautiful looking Kenny Deano! I hear you with the SMS paints, still a lot of trial and error for me with them too. All in all though, a really nice looking truck.

Thank you Bruce & Mike. I'd like to get some outside pictures of it to see how it comes up.
