My newest project is the M-B AMG GT. I've had this kit in the stash since 2017 when I went to my first NNL East show in Wayne, NJ. This is planned to be a box stock build. My paint with be Tamiya TS-16 Yellow with a Tamiya TS-65 Pearl Clear.    More AMG GT to come... |

I had stripped the wheels of chrome in prep for some Tamiya TS-29 Semi Gloss Black paint. The grille and the exhaust tips got a coating of Tamiya XF-1 Flat Black and taillights got a coating of Tamiya X-27 Clear Red.    More AMG GT to come... |

The President of my Model Club gave me this Gravity Tri-Coat Solarburst Yellow paint for a good price. Thank you Paul! I didn't have any Gloss Black Lacquer paint, so I used Testors Enamel Gloss Black paintI hope it doesn't let me down! I painted the chassis with Tamiya Matt Black. Now to let this all dry. My process on these wheels is spraying them with Gloss Black paint and trimming the edge of the rim with a silver Sharpie.

Well, I must admit that I am a little frightened of this paint. Gravity Colors Solarbeam Yellow. Three stages of paint! Base coat, mid coat and clear. I haven't painted this Mercedes yet, but I will soon.

Since I had my paintbooth up and running this afternoon, I went ahead and painted the Mercedes in the first of three colors. The first is the basecoat of Solarbeam Yellow. This will be followed by the mid-coat of metallic/pearl with a clearcoat being last.    More AMG GT to come... |

Looking good so far Mike, I'll be watching to see how this paint job comes out. I understand it sounds a bit daunting but I'm sure it'll be fine.

I added the mid coat of paint today. Since my air brush has been still for a month, I decided to give it a quick cleaning before I sprayed the mid coat. Next will be the clearcoat in a day or two.    More AMG GT to come... |

Jeez.....that yellow went on almost flawlessly. Good paint coverage with a difficult color bud.

Thanks Deano and Joe! I was able to scored the tri-color paint from a friend of mine and I was amazed at how it went on so flawlessly! I am definitely going to keep Gravity Colors Spain on my list of must have paints!

I polished the Mercedes this afternoon. I used NuFinish Scratch Doctor followed by Novus 2 Fine Scratch Remover. I'll use Novus 1 when the model is assembled. This color is gorgeous! I'll have to zip out into the heat and view this in the sunshine!    More AMG GT to come... |

I may have to pick some of that scratch doctor up and see how it works. As of right now my method is wet sanding with ultra fine paper and then off to the Novus 2 which doesn't do bad but THIS.....this looks swell man.

I always thought that the Scratch Doctor was a little more "rugged" than the Novus 2 and so I used that first, then I used the Novus 2. I was going to get more Maguirs Scratch-X 2.0, until I found out that the Scratch-X had wax in it and I didn't want that.

I've been working on the AMG GT. I added the front and rear clips, headlights, taillights and the carbon fiber roof decal. It may be light and strong, but I hate carbon fiber!    More AMG GT to come... |
