Well it's been a loooooong time since I posted anything here. This is my Chopped '71 Cuda so far. It was started nearly 10 years ago but has sat for all that time until a few weeks ago. The chop was pretty simple, with just the rear pillars getting sliced and the roof just laid back to suit, that way the front screen still fits. The other piece of work needed to get the rear (B) pillars aligned was to slice the roof up the middle and add a wedge which turned out to be not as hard as first thought. You can see by the bog where I've also shaved and filled some features ...
So, on to primer to find the rough bits .... Then onto the base colour ....
I'm using SMS Lacquers for this and it will have a Purple Grape pearl coat on top of this base colour
I can't remember where I picked up the resin bonnet from, that was a decade ago, but it needs some tweaking to get it to sit right ...
To keep the smooth look I'm hoping for I filled in the front and rear valance joints too ...
So as I'm not known for my speedy building skills this could be a long ride fellas .... anyway, slow and steady gets you there in the end I guess ... Cheers TJ

Nice chop, the new roofline looks similar to the current dodges

Time for a small update on the Cuda. Not moving at a great pace but I've sorted out my wheels, made rotors & calipers and rebuilt the rear end. It's just posed here for the photos, not assembled obviously but it gives you an idea where this is going. Rear end rebuilt using diff from the AMT '68 Roadrunner ...
Ignore the blue in the front wheels, it's just Blu-Tack ...
That's about it for now, still chipping away at it ..... yes chipping ... I dropped the resin bonnet and chipped the corner off it, hence the white putty .... Grrr. Cheers TJ

Slow and steady is fine with me mate, at least your back building cars, and it's a Badass looking MOPAR, love the custom body work. albeit, very subtle, but that is the best custom, the one you have to look twice at. Keep at it mate, looks killer. !!
