I was moving a shelf this mo rning and managed to drop it on my porsche gasser. I counld build it back the same as its my oldest build but I'm not sentimental aand I've built it once already. So instead I'm going to build it as a dannenhauer and strauss. Whats that I hear you say, Well its a vw based coachbuilt from the early 50s and I dont think many were made. I'm pretty sure I combine the porsche with a tamiyaa beetle to get a dannenhauer and strauss or something pretty close. I'm going to finish my current vws but this is next. Before After (with a little help but it wasn't much more together) This is a dannenhauer and strauss. I can see the diifference at the front but if a contour the top opf the porsche body to a tamiya bug I should be pretty close and the rear fenders look close to half of a front and rear bug fender so fingers crossed on that

That looks like a cool project Les.
What is that yellow car in the background?
A four door saloon with Fuchs wheels? Never seen anything like it.

Since all my other projects are in paint now I figured I may as well do something on this. I started with a tamiya bug and chopped off from the doors forward I did the same with the porsche body and then trimmed just a few milimitres around the hood opening on the porsche. I used this to form the start of the new front end. Since these pics were taken I've added another srip of plastic to the cowl as it was a hair too short. I'll let this sit now til my work week is over then start cutting up the porsche front fenders and rear end. I've also built up the front suspension, narrowed in my usual way. I need to have the suspension all set in place before I do more body work as I'm going to be running 19" wheels and building the body around them so it wont be an accurate replica but a close approximation
