Hey Gang, I've had this in the works for a couple of years now and finally ironed out some technical issues that kept me from attempting to build it. I'm doing kind of a modernization of the Road Rocket trike by going with carbon fiber instead of aluminum, black color instead of bare aluminum, and a 12 cylinder engine that will be turbocharged instead of supercharged. I went 12 cylinders because I kept asking myself how the heck can you upgrade from a blown Hemi? Since it takes about one and a half BBC to beat a Hemi (joking), I took a couple of Chevy big blocks and whacked off two cylinders from each and joined them together. I designed and printed the heads and manifold, as well as the swing arm (shown in bottom pic) for the front suspension. I'm using a C5 Corvette automatic transaxle just because I had one, and I think it is a perfect choice for this. The skin will be tough to fabricate, especially behind the engine. But hey, its only plastic, yeah.
Yeah, I know its crazy but consider the source.

I've been busy sorting out various issues with this project. I got my turbos and was disappointed to find that they are the same size as the ones I have. I was going for a bit larger as these seem a bit wee for the engine. After some hand wringing I decided to go quad turbo instead of twin. There are a few instances out there including the LS V12 built by the Aussies. Since I want to use the V12 headers I had from a previous build, the configuration is limited but here is what I came up with. The exhaust will exit towards you, the easy part, but the compressed intake air will have to take a circuitous route which I'm kinda sure I have sorted. I'll have four small air cleaners on the inlets facing inward on the turbos. Not sure how that will work but the result of all of this will put fear into anyone that's scared of snakes.
I do, however have the suspension figured out, but now I'm thinking about shortening the wheelbase since I'm adding F1 style radiator pods so I don't need room for a radiator up front.

I have seen this beast on the Tube... awesome weapon.
What you are doing is amazing, this is one of those builds everybody will talk about.
and i love the engine choice, and deciding on quad turbo's, just because they were small,
love the way you think mate.

Hey Gang! Well, I mocked up the quad turbos with plumbing, and frankly it looked like a spider having an out of body experience. The look was really busy and a bit non-symmetrical so off went the turbos. Then I cut the manifold in half and glued a flat plate in place to accept a couple of superchargers. I actually planned this first (that's why I had two identical sets), then thought about turbos, so now I'm back at the start.
I think this is what I should have stuck with from the start. The look is very aggressive and very different. I had to keep the exhaust pointing forward to have room for the side pipes. That took a bit of imagineering indeed. I hope you enjoy it.

I looked at a lot of options and none make sense. Now I just need to get back on the bench. All of the good weather lately has me in the yard or just walking around.
