Ok so the slight narrowing off the front ended up being about a scale 6" each side to get the right look but the stance is now set. I will be using these sprint star wheels so i have detailed them using molotowe pens. I'm using the stock wheels for mock up as I dont want to handle the rims too much and i still have to fit the mounts to the back of them. I've also filled the holes for the lights as they wont be needed and i've found some flat headlight chrome lights from some other brand of bug kit    I'm hoping to get both bugs in primer tomorrow if its weather to open the window for the booth. It was far too cold today |

Its in primer, again I hope to get the base paint done on weds. This one might get a gold base for lettering and pin stripes with a brandy wine pearl top colour

Well its been a while since this was updated. I've scratched a cage from some plastic rod which can be seen in one of the pics. It started as a simple 6 point cage but I got a bit carried away and built a tube front end too which is nearing completion. I added a scoop to the deck lid too then widened the rear arches using a spare bug body. Since that went fairly well I thought I should make it into an earlier bug so I removed the window from a gunze bug to make this into an oval. I had a rethink on the wheels too and have widened a set of kubelwagen desert rims to get a pair of dds style rims. The fronts are from a polar lights funny car now. Theres been some more work too but its not ready to show yet.   I still have to cut the rear arches to get the wheels on but this is the stance. I have a third bug I havent shared yet and a 23 window bus so hopefully I'll get them posted soon too

The bodys in the paintshop, not sure if i'm going traditional or modern paint yet. I've smoothed the hood for the fibreglass look and have another surprise coming after the first lot of primer.....  |
