As the year draws to a close I felt it was worth noting how the year has made us all re-evaluate what is important in our lives. It has been an awful year for many of us but the end of the year has brought some hope in the form of the vaccines that have been developed in record time and the importance real science has to our lives. We have found that many of the jobs we considered macjobs are actually essential workers, from our heroic healthcare workers to trash collectors and shop workers who have gone above and beyond at no small risk to themselves and for that I'm sure you'll join me in thanking them from the bottom of our hearts. It has shown us the importance community plays in our lives, whether thats your neighbours or online. Many of us have sadly lost loved ones from our lives and for that you have my sincere condolences. As 2021 makes its progress through the calender things will get better but it is still going to be a tough year for many, so I urge you to remember these people and if you are able to offer them support please do. Together we will defeat this and together we will be able to celebrate our victory. This is not a time to divide us, this is the time we stand tall and united as one people around the world. So for now remeber your masks and sanitiser safe in the knowledge that one day we will be able to throw them away.

Those are some really good thought Les and all are very well put. I've seen alot of negative threads relating to what a bad year 2020 was so it's nice to see something not only very supportive but also one with a positive spin on it.
I would like to add that this last year has been a time to focus on what really matters in our lives instead of 1.) being entertained, 2.) having what we want pretty much when we want , and 3.) taking things (as well as our families) for granted. I, for one, have been guilty of all three counts.
For the positive outlook I'll say this:....This all has been "a call to action" so to speak. It's been a time of focusing on our relationships, focusing on completing meaningful projects that we've been putting off for waaay too long because of other lesser priorities, a time of being patient and opportunities for growth. Like Les, my thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones or have had loved ones severely affected by this disease. My hope to all here and their families is that you have a safe year full of making good memories and treasuring the ones we love in the year to come.

At the risk of sounding like a downer, 2021 for the most part may be like 2020. I heard the UK may be heading for another lock down to help stem off the spread of the new deadly Covid. Here in the States, I like many others have been hunkering down in our homes and and trying to keep safe. I only go out for supplies when needed and it makes me laugh to see others buying up toilet paper by the score. Those who need those kind of supplies can't get them due to others hoarding them for apparently no sane reason at all! I have been abiding by the mandates set forward by the local Municipal and State leaders and will continue to do so for some time to come. Just because 2020 is gone doesn't mean that the virus is gone as well. It is still here amongst us! I do want to thank the "heros" who have stayed on the job taking care of those less fortunate than us. They deserve our thanks and benefits that few have ever seen.
