I got this from my nieces for christmas and since its not weather to paint I thought I'd fill in some time with this. As Ken said in his train thread its very detailed, especially for a wood kit. Tonight I got the engine started and got as far as the pistons. Tomorrow I'll be adding the valves to it. I dont know if they will move but the pistons go up and down so I'm assuming they will too.

Nice work on the engine Les. Looks like a real detailed kit. Is this a balsa wood kit?

Nice work on the engine Les. Looks like a real detailed kit. Is this a balsa wood kit? Its thin 3 layer plywood mike. I'm not sure what the base wood is but its a bit harder than balsa for the outer layers but the middle layer could be balsa

Must be something new out.
