Went to a few car shows this summer and noticed that street gassers are pretty popular. So I decided to build me one out of the Revell kit. So far I airbrushed the body with Alclad bright silver candy base then fogged in some black base and then the candy ruby red on top of that. Then the next day I clear coated it with Alclad gloss clear. More soon. Thanks for looking!

This was the first time I used this Alclad with a fade. I'm happy with it but hoping to get better with the fade. Thanks Pete-no this is not the aqua gloss its the gloss alc 310.

Do you like it??? and does it dry hard enough to cut/buff...I'm always looking for solvent based products that are easy to use/work with. I do use Alclad paints, just haven't used their clear gloss...yet...

Those are good questions Mike. As you know.....we'll be on the hunt for a gloss that's as good as Wet Look.

You shoot it right out of the bottle, it dries quick, goes on real nice and keeps a shine just like the wet look clear. I don't know if it can be cut and buffed, I didn't try that yet. Also I don't know if it will work on any other paints ,will have to give that a try.

It's lookin' like I may just pick some up and use it on a "spare" so I can work with some. Thanks for the info Mike.

LOL...I was out and about today. Picked some of that clear up. Going to try it on a few different paint systems/decals, see how it plays out. My understanding is that its pretty mellow and plays nice with decals. We shall see...

Ok guys, I did a test spray on a bumper from the parts box. The base coat is Tamiya ts-51 Telefonica blue sprayed right out of the can. Then I waited 30 min. to spray on the Alclad clear. The test turned out good with no issues. Pete-I used this clear over the decals on the Pure Hell car with no issues at all. I also sanded the Vette with 3000 and sprayed on 3 more coats of alclad clear. This car looks much better now. I don't think I will be buffing this one.

Thanks Deano This was an awesome kit to build had a lot of fun building it. It was also the first time I airbrushed alclad candy and clear. The paint went on very nice put the clear coat is still a little to soft to cut and buff. Looks like i'll be looking for another clear that cures a little faster...lol As always thanks for the nice comments guys. More pics in on the road.
