I'm currently having a bit of a fight with the seatbelts for the escort. The problem i'm having is when i cut the ribbon to thread it through the pe parts, the ends are fraying. I am hoping one of you might have a tip to stop this happening as its holding up my finishing the escort and since it has the pe set i'd like to use it rather than the decals. Any tips or advice gratefully received

Les...
I remember the last time I did belts, hope this helps...
Imagine the p/e part fitted, one part would be hidden behind the belt. So cut it once in the middle, bend out, fit the belt then bend the p/e back. The cut will be hidden !
Does that make sense ok ?

Cut the belt, then brush on a little PVA glue/Aquadhere. Maybe water the glue a little to thin it.

I just tried my first set of cloth seatbelts on the Maverick. Hope you have better luck than I did but wished I'd asked the question out in the open like you did here. Pretty good advice that I'll have to use the next time I pick up a set of cloth SB.

Pretty good advice that I'll have to use the next time I pick up a set of cloth SB. They turned out nice though mate. All the pe seatbelts I've had before I gave away but this kit needs them I think. I'll be back at them after my work week is done so the pva should be dry by then.

I found it was easier to thread them while still on the pe fret, it just meant I had to take extra care when cutting them from the fret but I think it was worth it and much easier than trying to do it with them removed as it gave something to hold on to
