... I just saw Sharp's gorgeous purple Thames in the LMS competition this month ... an outstanding build
... it reminds me of my 1:1 1948 English Ford Thames 1/4 ct. panel van street rod ... it's an old drag racer we rescued and it took 5-1/2 years to convert it into a street rod. It's powered by a 327 cu.in. engine out of a '65 Corvette. It has a Comp Cams 270H cam and kit, MSD ignition, Pete Jackson gear drive, custom shroud built by Alan Shadwick in Auckland, NZ covering a 600 cfm Edelbrock carb, and Hedman headers ... it puts out 377 horsepower at 5200 rpm ... TurboHydro 350 transmission with B&M clutches and converter ... 9" Ford rear end with 3.50:1 gears ... Chevrolet Aqua Blue Metallic paint and all body and fabrication work by Josh Richardson, and custom leather interior by Tim Scarlett ... ET mags, Michelin front tires and Pro-Trac rears ... the little beast weighs in at 2,488 pounds (most of that weight is in the interior) ... We tried to keep it looking as much like a '60's Gasser as we could, because that's exactly what it was.
