Thanks Mark. I usually buy two kits for about 75% of my builds. If they are going to be fairly straightforward then I'll just stick to one but too many times I see folks (myself included) get hung up on a build because of fit issues or test fit issues. This tends to stall a build out for quite some time. I've found that I can do all the test fitting and experimenting that I want to do if I can still progress in a build. Just a little trick I learned along the way.

Not been watching this lately, apologies Joe I've missed some great updates !I
Got to agree about the two kits idea, when I build a 64 Impala I've got spares of everything and it does certainly help out a great deal ! Once everything is fitted in place then build the PROPER parts, a lot less hassle ! Your mock up above looks perfect, great work going on here !
I'm just wondering where your gonna find 1/25 scale dog bowls for that setup ! Lol funny one Mark !! icon_giggles

Thanks Martin and Bruce!! I've been doing that two kit thing for a while now. Initially I built a 1/24 scale Bf109 and didn't have a spare and I wished I would've. I could've saved myself a really big headache in putting things together. Another thing that this kit is totally lacking in is the proper engine bay. I turned to the 67 Mustang kit for this since it's a fairly close match. On the right is a Jo-Han OOB engine bay in my other Maverick. After some mods and some trimming I've got the initial fit obtained. It's workable and looks like it should do the trick after some more fancy footwork.

More great detail work Joe, looking awesome mate, as for 2 kits per build, @ $60 each down here, that would be out of the question for sure.

Well gang....progress at last. I've been hard at work on this bad boy and have not posted anything due to trying to hit the bench a little harder. Here she is in the primer stage: and after I let that all dry out I hit it with color (Tamiya Pure Red dispensed from the can and shot through the AB) the next day. Didn't have to do ANY sanding to the primer coat. A couple of mock ups once the color coat had dried....couldn't help myself but to do this but have to admit that Mavericks look a little out of the ordinary in red: Was able to tuck the rear tires just a tad bit more inward as well. Gotta figure out how to raise the front of the car just a smidgen and bring the front tires out some more. I'll get there.....

Looks awesome in red Joe. Thanks Dale. I was applying the BMF to the side marker lights this morning and noticed a couple of boo-boo's in the paint so I started wet sanding some of those issues out. Hopefully I can start decaling by this weekend....or sooner if I can.

Looking good sir. What is that tub of formaldehyde looking thing at the rear of your bench? It doesn't say "AB normal" on it, does it?
