Thanks guys. Progress is movin' slow on this one. Still gathering parts and I'm having to work around them while waiting on them in the mail.

I've been haggling over the tires for the last couple of days and after conversing with Ted Bowe from Ted's Modeling Marketplace back and forth through emails, going through photo shots and doing ALOT of measuring and head scratching I've come up with a new set of slicks that I'm going to use for this thing. Additionally I was concerned with how the front ride height was going to be but once I test fitted everything into place...…….it pretty much fell into place. I might go just a tad lower in the front but I'm pretty happy that I don't have to do much here as this has been quite the gaggle in the way of mods on this car. This is the way this car is going to look now and it seems like it's a lot closer to the reference photos that I have of this car. Now I've just gotta score a Goodyear decal sheet to put the scripts onto the tires. Reference shot: Updated parts and stance: Which is hell and GONE from the way I did have it ….. BTW.....did I mention that I found a set of aluminum slots for it?? Anybody wanna know how hard it is to find something like this? Yeah.....those are on the way to me from Canada: Almost forgot......I'll be going with the 427 SOHC instead of the 429 Boss motor. I actually had one......IN the Jo-Han boxing. emotion-8 Construction started:

Those rims are nice Joe! Where did you find them? From a fella in Canada who got 'em from Micro Nitro......but they've gone out of business the last time I checked. I ordered a set of Weld Draglites from them around 4 years ago and they were perfect. They did good work but the guy sold his business and the last time I tried to use the successor the service wasn't all that great.

Here we go! Thanks Mark! After looking at the pictures this morning before heading to work and not being able to correct them then, I've since repositioned the L/H cylinder head into the proper position by sliding it forward to cover the timing cover the way it should and have given all the raised aluminum/ magnesium fins the proper treatment....

Thanks Dale. I did a little more painting on the engine parts this morning. I think the biggest challenge I'm going to have is to relocate the engine mounts in order to move it further back in the engine bay due to it being an entirely different frame underneath this one. I can't get over Jo-Han wanting to mount the engine on...….the lower control arms?? Just didn't make any sense. After that I'm going to have to figure out header clearance issues and work past those. LOTS of modifications to get this one to look right. Friggin' glorified promo model.

Cool pic of a mongo engine. Looks like two upturned dog food bowls. I am sure that you will be able to overcome the mods and get it to how you like. No doubts bud.

Engine is looking good Joe! Thanks Leon! A little more progress as of late. Been working on this thing all week long. Starting to get googly eyed.... icon_shocked_zpsq7jmp5d6 Got a few more bits on. Oil filter, starter, bellhousing and transmission have all been painted up and installed. Working on the intake area of the build now which is where all the details are going to be. Stuff like ignition wiring, throttle linkage, fuel lines and all the mumbo jumbo stuff that goes in there.... All test fitted together with a set of carbs that I have in the stash. Proper Dominators will go on top when I get 'em in the mail.... and for test fitting the engine into the frame to check out header options, header to frame clearances and general fit..... so I don't damage or mess up any of the details that I'm building here I've got another 427 that came in a glue bomb Maverick that I got in the mail that's undergoing a restoration/ transformation.

Excellent progress here sir. I noticed you have the correct oil filter. That is a great tip to use a dummy engine too.
