I've had this once completed build hanging around for a while now. I ordered it off of ebay several years ago because I couldn't find an unbuilt Jo-Han Maverick. Just after I received it I found a kit still in the box so this has sat at the back of my bench for the last few years awaiting either disassembly or a fate in the trash can. The more I looked at it, however, the more I saw a salvageable paint job but still lacked any real motivation to tear it apart an shine things up a bit.
First off lets get a photo going of the subject:
(Word Censored By Forum Administrator) Brennan's 1971 Ford Maverick:
and a picture of the body on my bench undergoing a wet sanding an polish up:
I was cruising through Hobby Lobby and found this:
and I thought to myself, "Hey!!! Those tires are PERFECT!!" and I immediately thought of the Maverick.
It shouldn't take too long to shine up and put a set of good looking slicks and skinnies under it on some slot , period correct, wheels.
BTW....progress is STILL going on with the Arado build. This is merely a progress filler to keep me from stagnating while I'm on long term projects such as the Arado and the Malibu. More coming...………..

Sweet, I've bid on a few of these but they always go for more than I'm willing to pay.

Sweet, I've bid on a few of these but they always go for more than I'm willing to pay. They do go for a pretty penny. The unbuilt kit that I acquired came at a good price of $50. That’s as cheap as I’ve ever seen one. This one here was almost a freebie being built and all.

Never seen this kit before Joe! Must be a real oldie. Thanks Leon. It’s an old Jo-Han kit.

Just found this Joe.
Looks neat.
My neighbor in Corpus 40 years ago had a Maverick. It was Forest Green. Always liked it.
I'll be watching this project.
Carry on sir....

Thanks dumpydan and Mark. I appreciate the comments. Gloss Coat on.....now waiting for a few days till I can wet sand and polish 'er up to a nice shine: It aint the most perfect paint job out there but I'm not about to start over with the paint and then again with decals. I'll see what I can do touch up wise.
