Deano, you are really doing some great work here.
Great creativity, great fabbing. It is so cool.
I have to use my friend Ace's words here. I asked him what he thought of my 2CV.
He said, "Well it looks like you went way outside the box, then kicked the box of a high cliff!"
I think that rightly applies here. Good on you sir. Carry on!!

Thanks Mark and Mike. Still got plenty to go, might need to ease off on the detailing and start to paint. Pleased it doesn't need to be a showroom finish, today's max temp was 3 degrees!

Session 9. Time has been hard to come by lately but I'm getting there. Pipe work from the aircleaners that will go under the cab to the engine. Some pipework for the tanks. I have 3 or more of these bullbars from the Revell Australian Kenworth with the Blue Circle decals. I thought I should be able to knock something up with all these bits. I was wrong, it just looked rubbish so I went to the scrap plastic box and tried again and came up with this. I think it looks overbuilt enough to do the the job. I also had another crack at the flame thrower. I still need to do the front weapon, sort the grill, exhausts, interior and a few small bit and pieces. The kit dash id LHD even though the box says Australia on it. I have a spare Peterbilt dash that I'll cut down to suit( I hope!!). Thanks for the interest guys.Hope to start painting this weekend.

Session 10. Primer Session 11. Paint Session 12. Finally started to put it all together. Some things are a little rougher than I'd normally like but with the month time frame and the nature of the build I think it will all be ok. Engine was done in Vallejo gunmetal and given a coat of black wash. I'll do a bit more dirtying up as I go. I went with a matt black chassis for this and a gloss black cab(s). Using the chrome tape to replicate the stainless steel or chrome straps on the aircleaners etc as a highlight. Still need to do some touch up work and finalize the turbo and exhaust plumbing but the chassis is nearly there.

I'm really enjoying watching this. Some top drawer creativity and hard work going in to this. The bullbar and other fabbing are excellent. The drivetrain and weathering look great. It has the right amount of apocalypti-ness.

Session 13 through to now. This went from kinda though out build steps to grabbing 5 minutes at the bench whenever I could to get it over the line, not even time for updates until now. Even though most of this came from the blue circle Kenworth which is meant to be RHD I didn't have a RH dash so I found this one out of a modern Peterbilt and cut it down to this. It lost some of it's swagger but fits in nicely. It's going to be pretty hard to see inside once it's all together so I didn't do too much detail but did try to dirty it up a bit. The steering wheel and seat are all from the spares box, evergreen steering column. I found a dual exhaust pipe from an Italeri Mercedes Benz kit? and cut it down and bent it around to (nearly!) meet the turbo. The green elbows air air cleaner fittings with the detail sanded off. Bit off colour on and added a some sort of compressed air system for the crossbolt gun on the cab roof. I ditched the White Road Boss grill because I couldn't make it look fixed to the bonnet right so I found this mesh and used it. The headlight bezels come from Italeri's Australian truck Western Star. Not sure where the lenses went! At this point, I decided it was time to start to put it together, 4pm on the 30th is probably late enough. Thanks for following gents, all your ideas and suggestions have been appreciated and largely attempted. Next post will be in the finished section.
