Started this last night.Got the engines, chassis and interior assembled and primed last night. This morning the engines and chassis got some paint before i went to work.Undecided if i want to use the 426 Hemi or the 440 Magnum so i started wiring the 440 first. The only thing i swapped out were the wheels.I'm using the stock wheels from the 80 Volare roadrunner. I’ve built the top half of both of these engines and they both build up nicely. That Hemi is quite the show and would work very well with this car. Will be watching!!

Glad to have you along Joe! I'm starting to lean towards the Hemi.My only concern is,will it fit under the hood without using the scoop.I'll have to do a test fit once i have the body together and before i glue the engine in

You can always take a little bit out of the K-member in order to lower the engine just a smidgen a little bit in the engine bay ya know.

I think you might struggle to get the hemi under the hood mate, it looks to be poking through on the box pic but it might fit with a lower profile induction or a little fiddling with the the engine mounts could get it to sit low enough for you. I'm sure no matter what you decide you'll end up with another fine model on the shelf though

Remember on the 440's that the wires don't go across the valve cover. They route around the front of the cylinder heads and come up under the exhaust manifolds.
In example:

Don't I know it! I had a 69 Roadrunner with a 440. Sweet engine. You figure out very quickly the brakes aren't up to it. You change the plugs from underneath too. Try it from the top and you will be burnt to a crisp. I'm not sure what your vision is for this build, but my vote is for the 440. For sure if you want it under the hood. Carry on sir....

Made some good progress yesterday.Interiors painted and i took some artistic licence and painted the seat inserts chrome. The body has been painted sub lime green.I ended up going with the 440 magnum as the front suspension would have needed some major work to use the Hemi and i didn't feel comfortable doing.
