I didn't know if I should post these but I was encouraged by another member so I guess this is the best place to do so. I have been self taught and have been drawing with graphite on and off for most of my life, although nothing constant,(probably bc of modeling), but I have since taken to colored pencil and have found similarities in techniques used in acrylic painting while modeling scale figures. Below are a few of my works from the most recent:
Just finished this. My daughter Morgan when she was 10. She caught 2 fish like this that day. And the original picture
This was my first attempt at colored pencil; my cousin's dog: A picture of my cat done with graphite and mechanical pencil: And lastly, A German machine gunner at Stalingrad:

Something else I have been working on. This is a picture of my oldest daughter, Samantha. She used to dance a number of years ago and a while ago, before I used colored pencils, she asked me to draw this for her. I finally got around to it and finished it in time for Christmas. She cried when she got it.

95% 0f the population never discovers their talent (we all have one somewhere in us) you and your family are very fortunate...You have definitely discovered yourse. Very impressive work. I have no doubt you could give pro's a good run for their money.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I really don't know where it comes from. I checked out a few youtube videos but just go at it and try to reproduce what I see. It just happens and I really surprise myself. BTW, does anyone have any idea why the pics appear sideways when the pictures I have linked to are the correct aspect?
