Building convertibles can be a dicey move because the interior has to be dang near spot on and buddy, you have surely accomplished that here. Very good turnout with the paint, engine work AND interior work. Sharp ride Dale.

It turned out great Dale. The colors pop and the texture is slick as glass.
Question: The mufflers have a weave to them. Did you do that?
Ace work sir!!

Why thank you all so very much guys Much appreciated for sure. Michael, that weave was molded into the mufflers, which are molded onto the floor pan.

I was waiting for Dale to reply before I did but there is sheets of stuff similar to that available. I dont know any us sources for it but hiroboy.com in the uk stock it and a search for the brand name would probably find you a source closer to home. Its similar to bmf or if you know a smoker, ask them to keep the foil from their cigarette packs, its useful for dash trim/firewalls. Another source is the inner foil lids from catering size coffee tins but its a little too big for 1/24 1/25 but might do for exhaust heat shields since it would be mostly hidden by it.

Dale, very interesting. Thanks for that.
Les, also very interesting. I'll check into that. I love the idea regarding dashes and firewalls. Super custom. Thanks.

Another awesome build Dale. You say a basic build but these can be dangerous as there is no where to hide, nothing to draw the eye away from any flaws. Attention to detail and finish is top notch - as usual mate , Bonza two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon

Fabulous Thunderbird!! (Wasn't there a rock and roll group by that name?) The colors make me just keep wanting to look at it. Great shading with the black base coat.

The Fabulous Thunderbirds are a band from around here Dale. Jimmy Vaughn is the guitarist. He has always been in the shadow of his younger brother, the amazing Stevie Ray Vaughn.
The band is still around, plugging away in clubs, etc. They never really broke through with commercial success. Two hits that I can remember.
Stevie on the other hand...Legend.
