I am on a quest to build a race car from every era Corvette so this is my second A nasty Greenwood from 1971. It is near impossible to find reference material on this exact car.. So here is a pic after body cleaned up, emblems shaved, Rear flares added and the factory gas filler door filled in (uses race type filler neck and cap. Next the hood after the vent was opened Paint demon showing his ugly head. (tiny bubbles that sanded out but still spooked me for a bit) I was concerned on how the decals would do ( being a 14 year old kit) so I took the removable top to paint/clear-coat/decal/clear-coat stage. ) The red on the decals is very fragile Tiny dots came off with the use of solv-a-set so I had to touch little specs up. I will try to use heat and water for the rest and if I do have to use solvent only dab the decals.

Those decals came out great mate, i like that look with the wider wheel arches.

Well awesome the decals were rotten..ordered some liquid decal film after this hood fiasco. You know the type where you set the decal in water and it just comes apart..grrrrr this is the best I could get after my decal went into about 20 pieces. Did I mention grrrr. I wish I had a spare decal sheet I would redo it.  |
