I just like pre-WW2 Float Planes. The Curtis was a plane that broke a speed record and was flown by some famous pilots. The P-80 was the first production US jet fighter. They were about to be introduced into WW2, but the war ended just as they were about to activate the unit. They saw service in Korea, but obviously did not do well.
