Hey dudes, I'm looking to get a new airbrush, as I've fried mine. It was just a cheapy, so no big deal. What are you guys using? I'm looking for a good quality budget Airbrush. I don't want to spend a lot of money, as I don't use an airbrush often enough to warrant it. Any advice welcome. Cheers, Bruce

There is three different airbrushes that I use that are priced pretty cheap I think.I also have some other airbrushes in the $100.00 range
1 Paasche starter airbrush- works great with craft acrylic paints.I got it from ebay $20.00 with shipping.great airbrush at that price!
2 Paasche H series-works great with all paints. cost about $60.00 for the kit 3 Paasche VL series-works great for custom paint work, great for small parts painting, just a all around great airbrush.cost about $70.00 for the kit
I Hope this helps you Bruce

I've got a number of different airbrushes and all that have been mentioned so far are good airbrushes.
Out of all the airbrushes that I have , the two types that do me the most good are my two Badger 200's (typically cost less than $100) that I've got on quick disconnect fittings just in case I get a major clog in the middle of a paint job so I can switch out quickly and move on without a hiccup
and my Badger 350 (costs around $60) which I use for all of my auto color and gloss coats. Haven't been disappointed by either of them yet.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help. Think I'm leaning toward a Badger 155, it seems to be a similar set up to my current one and a decent all rounder.

Paasche Talons, VLs, some cheapies from China and Harbor Freight, The Talon is my go to and I now really flock to gravity feds. The Iwata Neo is a pretty good one to try as well, needle seems a bit cheap but it works well.

I have several airbrushes, all are Badger, but I use the Badger Universal 360 the most. I also have a Badger 150 that I use for Alclad II paints and fine detailing work.

Thanks for the input guys. My wife is gifting her Iwata airbrush to me, as she no longer uses it for airbrush work, so hopefully try it over the weekend. Have spent most nights this week sorting out my new paint booth in the shed. It ain't too pretty, but it'll work.

As for the paint booth not looking too pretty,... who cares, as long as it works mate, and gets you painting all year round.

I've tried the Iwata out and it is worlds apart from my $50 cheapie I was using. Thanks so much for your advice with the booth too mate, winter painting is no longer a problem!! Well here is the set up I'm working with:
And the sweet, glossy results so far (from a Tamiya spray can.):

Thanks Leon, pretty happy with how it is working so far. I need to sus out some sort of Fume extraction though. Try one of those ceiling exhaust fans from bunnings, they are about 20 bucks i think, 240v. And as you have found, the styrene box doesn't like solvents either.. But a great set up mate, and it keeps you in the groove through winter, when we don't have too much car stuff to do outside.
