Hello to everyone here! I'm new to this forum and my name is Greg Birky. A long time off and on builder, currently on. I enjoy seeing all the different categories of model cars, trucks, etc. I'm recently started building a replica darkside NASCAR 65 Chevy Impala of Roy Mayne. I have several customs that are stalled projects and a couple of hot rods too. About 15 years ago I gave away all my kits, built models, tools, everything...thought I was getting out for good. A few years ago I decided to give it another go so my brother who saved all my tools and a few kits brought them back to me. Little did I know that somehow another brother gave two of my models to the museum in Salt Lake. One is a custom 49 Merc and the other is a 62 Bel Air bubbletop build as a mild custom. I hope to go see them again one day. Anyway, at 66 years old I'm now having fun building whatever I like at the time and just want to hang out and get to know y'all and maybe pick up a few new ideas and techniques and enjoy you guys models as well. I hope maybe to offer some encouragement to to others also. I live in Newton, Iowa and don't belong to any clubs. Thanks for having me. I'll get an avatar up one day soon.

Hey Greg, welcome aboard mate, i'm from the big Island of Australia called Tasmania, so we are spread out from everywhere here. Glad you came back to the hobby, and i think we all have given parts and kits away over time thinking we have had enough... Look forward to seeing some of your builds, and we're all happy to share out the tips and skills too, i think it is an important part of the hobby, it helps everybody to improve, and enjoy what they build. And please do offer your encouragement and opinions on other peoples builds, this is what keeps a forum going.. The most important bit... ENJOY MODELING MATE !  |

Welcome aboard Greg, don't worry about DeeCee being from Tasmania. They have 2 heads down there.  I can say that, because I'm on the main land in sunny Queensland  Glad to see you are back in the game and look forward to seeing some of your builds. Hey Greg, welcome aboard brother. I too am in Australia. In South Australia, so about halfway between DeeCee and AussieModler. Great to read you are getting back into the hobby. You're never too old. Have a look around and enjoy building. I ain't no expert, but plan on posting "How to" on some of my building techniques. Cheers, Bruce

Thank you for the warm welcome guys!!! I work mostly from my iPad so I'll learn how to post pics real soon. This tablet seems different than Windows computers so it'll take a bit of experimenting. I look forward to hanging out with y'all.πππ»ππ»ππ»π
