That's a great color you've got goin' and it laid down nice and smooth for you as well. I do like how the hood hinges are portrayed on these cars. Looks a little better that some of the fake ones that I've seen on other kits.
Speakin' of hood hinges has anybody seen that thread that a guy named Builder2010 has posted? That is INSANE stuff I'll tell ya. I've seen him on another forum (but can't remember which one) but here's his thread over on FineScaleModeler.
Here's the link: cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/4/t/179481.aspx

Thanks Joe! Builder2010 had posted on another forum on a thread for my 1966 Fairlane about how it reminded him of the one he had years ago. I saw his build thread on Finescale and then the hood hinges thread recently. I normally don't do this, but I found the firing order for the 340 engine and wired the engine this way. I glued the ignition coil onto the intake manifold. When that is dry, I'll add the coil wire to the coil. I usually call people anal for going to this length, but I had to try it and it wasn't any more difficult this way. I may do this more in the future as long as I am using a pre-wired distributor. If I am wiring the distributor in my usual fashion with one hole, then I won't bother. More to come...

Who's the manufacturer of that distributor Mike. I usually drill all my own distributors but if the cost aint that bad I may go this route next time.

Morgan Automotive Detail (MAD). I got a bunch at NNL East for $5.00 each. Caps and wires come in various colors. I once tried to drill all nine holes in a cap, only to mis-drill the third hole. After that, it was drill one hole and cross the wires over the top of the cap to help hide the hole with the wires. Thank you Tim Boyd for that technique! When I found MAD at NNL East, I bought several distributors at $5.00 each and have been buying them there ever since. I want to get some K&N Air Filters now and I don't remember if he had them at the show.

Thanks Deano and Steve! I really like those MAD distributors. $5.00 each is not a bad price for a pre-assembled distributor.

I got a 1/24 scale "Tuff" steering wheel from Mr. Prestigious in my model club who was going to use it in his '63 Fury Pro Street. He was concerned about what colors that were available for this wheel and whether they would clash in his interior. After some discussion, it was decided to go with the stock kit steering wheel and he gave me the "Tuff" steering wheel. I placed the wheel on the bench and looked at it off and on during the last week or so. I decided to use it on the Dart. The kit wheel on the left and the "Tuff" wheel on the right. INstalled in the interior. While I am waiting for the pie plate decal to snuggle down on the air filter housing, I have it 99% finished. More to come...

I am attempting finish foiling the Dart with foil that has almost no adhesive on it. I am struggling with this right now, but I will get through it with sheer determination. I'm using Micrscale Micro Metal Foil Adhesive and the cleanup after the foil has been applied has doubled my usual cleanup prior to gloss coat. Trying to use foil cut closer to the section I am foiling. Touch up will be fun! More to come...

Here you go Joe! Well, after sitting on my hands for a week or two, I decided to clear coat the Dart GTS this morning. Two mist coats and two medium coats of Tamiya TS-13 Gloss Clear. I may do one more coat of clear and then wet-sand the body and hood. More to come...

I got the body joined together with the interior and the chassis. I added the front grille. The hood striker plate didn't want to fit without pushing the grille out. I'm in the process of shaving it down for a better fit. I still need to add the radiator and heater hoses. More to come...

The Dart is almost finished. I think the engine compartment is done, save for a touchup or two. I lost the driver's side windshield wiper and the passenger door handle earlier. I did find the door handle fairly quickly, but I searched high and low for the wiper and couldn't find it. I took a break to go let the dogs out and turned around and saw the wiper on the floor, in a spot that I had already looked at! Since the 340 is a small block engine, I need to make a longer drive shaft. More to come...
