The U.K. as it is, for the moment; just south of the border with what will be The People's Republic of Haggisstan after Indyref 2 (and then we can go back to calling ourselves English - rather than British - without being thought of as right-wing extremists... ).
Cheers,
M

I'm 50% Border Reiver (actually, two-quarters) thanks to my grandmothers, a Bell on my mother's side and a Hetherington on my Dad's. The latter are sometimes regarded as merely as a "disorderly people" given to blackmail and protection rackets, but they were as capable of raiding and feuding as their small numbers permitted...
The great irony is that part way through WW2 the Scots were running out of manpower for their regiments and Dad was one of not a few Cumbrians who ended up in Scottish units (15th Scottish Infantry Division) and spent a considerable time in Scotland before moving south for "Overlord". He developed a great affection for the country and it's people, and I grew up reading "The Broons" and "Oor Wullie" in the Sunday Post. I actually visited Edinburgh many years before I first visited London (or, indeed, anywhere south of Blackpool).
Regards,
M
